Have you tried waxing a denim MK2 anyone?

Does anyone have one of these, and what do you think of it?

As part of my Indy on a shoestring project I'm considering buying one and impregnating it with oilcloth wax - as that can look very like well worn leather.
Has anyone tried this?

I've reoiled a 'Barbours' a couple of time .........sounds like an interesting project........it will make the jacket a little warmer and won't 'breathe' as well as the untreated denim.......
