I have read in posts that it was both brass and steel. With both of them appearing in Raiders (which is my main concern)
Any know the definitive answer (if such a thing exits with Indy).

The buckle is brass, but I think that its seen as silver at times just due to distressing. I know I have a brass web belt and the brass wore off from use etc and looks silver. But it is brass

Templar's explanation is what I've heard all along too.
Did anyone ever get a look at a screen used one?
Maybe there were both kinds... What were the real ones, if there were surplus old military belts used in Raiders?
