Very nice jacket. Tony distresses the LC jacket well. Thanks for posting the photos.

Very, very nice. I've never really been tempted by TOD or LC jackets until I saw Tony's versions.... whatever Indy jacket mojo he's got, it's working.

Just absolutely beautiful. Tony does great work on the LC, doesn't he? I forget what hide you ordered. At any rate, it's a fantastic jacket. :notworthy:

NO-ONE in a million years could come close to that jacket for achieving that look that Tony does with these LC jackets. (Or put another way, if they could, why haven't they done so already?) It makes nitpicky stuff redundant. One of those whole transcends-the-sum-of-its-parts thing.

I really like the flaps on your pockets, nephilo (the whole jacket is fantastic). But Tony can pretty much give you what you want on these things if you want to change something. For instance, this was what I was going for on my LC pocket:

And, here's what I received:

Of course the flap in the screencap is at a bit of an odd angle, but you can judge for yourself how close he got on the flaps. I'm certainly happy with the result.

The LC-distressing on the right leather color was most important for me. Not the stormflaps or something else.... ;)

Awesome jacket nephilo

But Holt, I gotta ask, just out of curiosity, what's wrong with the flap shape? How does it differ to the screen jacket? Personally, I'm not nitpicky about screen accuracy (I'm waiting for my own LC-KOTC-style US Wings, after all), but it is interesting to note the minor differences in the various jackets out there.

You know how I feel about 'pre-distressed' gear....but that aside, this jacket has GOT to be one of the best examples I've seen to date.

I swear it looks like you HAVE owned it for years, rather than it being 'fresh out of the can'.

My congratulations!...and yes, your sleeves WILL ride up with regular wear, so they are the perfect 'new' length!

HIGH regards! Michaelson :M:

I thought the hide looked familiar! ;) It is a really beautiful hide and I think it works very well for the LC.

that's the thing about the distressing on the LC jacket. It's so over the top, you would never match the look by the 'natural' method. It's as much part of the LC jacket as pocket size and snap placement.

Bringing up pics of this jacket side by side with the Smithsonian jacket is such a fun thing to do! Absolutely incredible!

How would you improve the pockets Baldwyn?

Just looking at the photos there isn't much 'off'. Maybe if we could see a square on photo of the Smithsonian jacket pocket and flap it woud show up better?

On the real jacket the pockets are less scalloped - that's the key. Noen of the TN pockets look right yet. But having said that, I like them better than the film version. This new LC is fantastic!

That's the wrong jacket... look at the difference in the pockets. It wasn't used in the film. It's the one from the auction that has a debatable pedegree. Go for the Smithsonian photos instead.

yes it is. thats the kurtz jacket. its NOT screen used. its sold on an auction, claimed to be an LC. but I have my doubts. the distressing was done in a hurry in the backroom before displying the thing.

you need to find the smithsonian jacket and compare it with...thats a screen used one. ;)

I understand. but when you study LC frame by frame in high close up, you can get sure about alot of things. like this jacket...

the big give away on this jacket is that it has a high raiders yoke. non of the LC jacket have that.

:-k

That's a very interesting theory. I've never thought that way before. From these grabs (with all of the warnings that go with using screen grabs), while the LC yoke certainly isn't nearly as low as the ToD, it doesn't look to be as high as a Raiders either (at least on two of the jackets).

right. in every scene the jacket is visible in LC form the back it has a low yoke. adn from the front I clearly can see it is either the smiths jacket. the Hero jacket or some other jacket that has all the correct LC features in order.

here is the back of the Kurtz jacket. clearly raiderish yoke.

ImageImage

and the X-box with long straps. the hem stitch. smaller collar. taller pockets. little flap. the armseam 1 inch below the yoke. High vent. I am still amazed about why do people think that this is an LC. even though it is claimed to be an LC doesnt mean it is. this has all the features of a raiders jacket.

as I have said before. I think this is one of those left over raiders jackets that had the D rings on them. when LC came out they found a jacket gave it some quick LC distressing and told them this is an LC....

Okay, I understand now. :H: It's the Kurtz jacket that has the high yoke. I thought you were saying the LC has a yoke similar to the Raiders yoke which was putting my little jacket world into a tailspin.

Personally, I agree with you. I don't think the Kurtz jacket is an LC at all (even more so from your post). Someone pulled a little bit of a fast one and auctioned this off as an LC.
