Ok to wait on getting a Todd's jacket until summer is over?

Post by blueoakleyz »

I want one but I might as well not spend the money if I can't wear it until like september..

Will the price and quality still be the same?

if you get lambskin, you can wear it to bed if you like during tropical nights. its that thin....So you can wear it all year long. But I think it would be really cold wearing that one during winter tho....

blueoakleyz, your profile doesn't say where you are located. Where is it? I know that I live in a place that gets warm in the summer, and my Indy jacket still got use some days, especially on cooler summer evenings.

I ALMOST pulled out my goatskin Expedition last night, as it got a bit chilly, and I live in South Central Tennessee. Don't let the weather rule your purchase. You may need that jacket in August for all you know!

Exactly. If this is your first jacket, and I am assuming it is, you'll be very surprised how light it is. Mind you, I'm not saying WEAK. Just LIGHT.

Tropical Weight Leather is the best description we've come up with.

I've been wearing my Todd's Standard off and on all summer since I got it a month ago, wore it this morning in fact. Granted it's been unseasonably cool this summer, but still, I'd say jump on it.

I spoke with someone at Todd's. Here's the deal with the "A" and "B" in jacket sizing. "A" is old stock, "B" is new stock (which includes new sizing, darker color, new texture). When the "A" is all gone, it's gone.

I'm one of those weirdos who can often be seen wearing his jacket in 80 degree temps and beyond. My daughter says my thermostat is broken. To me, when it gets to a certain temperature, I don't think an extra layer makes that much difference. In fact, I often find it more comfortable to wear the jacket than to feel the sun eating away at my skin, but maybe that's just me.

Get the jacket!

I think that's just the angle and how the jacket is on the dummy. Either way, the first photo is the standard jacket that is the subject of the size changes. The second photo is of a custom jacket. Totally different animal.

IF.. todd could source a super dark cowhide or super dark goatskin I would be all over a XXL ''A'' with a few sizing tweaks.

Todds jackets are super SA and I really love them, the only thing that turns me alittle of is his other skin choice..

I think the cowhide he uses is a bit TOO Milk chocolate... if it was very dark I would LOVE it....
