I've had that exact same problem when applying Fuller's but then I read on this forum that if you filled an old sock with the stuff and beat up the fedora with it, the dust would be distributed much more evenly. So I tried that and it worked like a charm, no specks, so try that when the time comes for more Fuller's.Tundrarider wrote: Distressing: I applied Todd's Fuller's Earth using a soft make-up (blush) brush. The problem was, the earth would go on sort of "speckled" and I would have to brush most of it out to remove the "dots." When I was satisfied I had done all I could with the Fuller's Earth, I went outside and took a few handfuls of "God's own" earth and applied it generously. That's the extent of the distressing so far.
Bottom line, that's all that matters. Excellent review!Tundrarider wrote:
Let me start with a disclaimer: I am far from being a fedora expert. However, I have been a costumer for a long time and have a pretty good eye for what works and what doesn't. I certainly know what appeals to me.![]()
