Pictures of your HJ Poet!!!
I'd like to see pictures of HJ Poets. Mine came from Todd's Costumes, who does not offer them anymore.

Thats a great hat! I have one of todds also! What style is that? Raven bar?
Re: Pictures of your HJ Poet!!!
That one looks decent. Can't figure out why some do, but most don't. Same with its brother the Christy. Some do, but most don't. You got a good one. Fedora

Todd shaped it to be "Cairo", but I messed with it a bit. And I put the turn in it myself. I'm going to send it to John Penman in a few months to be reblocked.

Good to know! Thanks!
I'm considering ordering a "Henry" from John Penman. What do you think?
Re: Pictures of your HJ Poet!!!
I know you asked Steve, but as a Henry owner I just had to chime in
The Henry is a great hat and I don't think you could go wrong with one. I don't know if it would matter to you or not, but the bow work is much nicer on the Henry than on a standard HJ. Also, the ribbon itself is more accurate. Ad to that the 20% beaver content for durability and the lower risk of the hat tearing along where the sweat is sewn in when reblocked. So all in all, it's a great hat for a good price that can only be topped by ordering a custom made hat.
Regards, Geert

Yeah, I figure Steve will say, "Buy one, of course!" But still its great to see What Steve will say. I'm just proud that he likes my HJ!
Anyway, thank you for chiming in, it's much appreciated. I just sent money to John Penman to make me a Raiders Seaplane Gray hat, and I'm thinking perhaps I'll have him shape me a Henry a little later.

I don't want to take this too off topic but I can't wait to read your write-up and see the pics. I've been thinking of just this configuration and want to see how it came out.I just ordered and received (within days! ) an absolutely perfect AB Henry from John Penman.
I asked him to give it the LC style/bash. This is one awesome hat. Don't want to go on too much, as I will be posting pics soon with a full write-up.

DHW, I like your poet. Really considered one before I found COW and the Akubra Fed IV. Also like the Alphonse Mucha print in pic four!
Re: Pictures of your HJ Poet!!!
Well, once Marc sends me one to look at, I will let ya know. Hard to give factual info when I have never seen one in hand. I have just seen pics. I actually have to throw in the creases to see how it takes em'. I hear they are good. And I know the quality is, as the felt is sent to the factory from Marc's supplier. He did not like what the factory made for their own hats.I'm considering ordering a "Henry" from John Penman. What do you think?
I bet some expected me to say, YES, buy one, great hat! Those folks don't know me very well!
But lets get back to the HJs. I want one made in 1980!! Fedora

I want the prototype that DL made. I would settle for one of my hats sat on by her.

Oak,
That's probably the filthiest thing I've read on this forum.

It would also be the closest thing to a SA Raiders hat on this forum. No one else could say that the same rear that sat on indy's hat sat on theirs!

Re: Pictures of your HJ Poet!!!
I'm wearing an HJ Poet in my avatar, if memory serves correctly it used to be whiskeyman's. Fits a little snug now and could use a bit of a reblock, but a VERY raiders fedora. It's semi-retired now that I have the AB, but I love the hat and would be hard pressed to part with it.
