Any ABD pics and testimonials?

Post by Snapbrim76 »

I've finally decided that although it's gonna be painful, I really wanna take the plunge and get an Adventurebilt Deluxe. Nothing's gonna change my mind - I really want the best hat I can get that will last til i expire and won't need reblocking every time London dampens my day.

So if I'm gonna make this huge financial sacrifice I really want to wet my appetite with photos and testimonials from the forum that recommended ABD to me in the first place.

So please show me what I already know and remind me of the light at the end of this long tunnel of anticipation. It's gonna be a long wait so I would really appreciate any photos or comments that shows me this masterpiece in all it's glory.

One suggestion would be the AB Henry, delivered in less than two weeks?

OMG! I've just read Marc's MSG and now I feel really bad. I didn't realise this was the situation and I wish I hadn't emailed him for a hat. If I'd known I would have given him some space. Nothing is worth that.

You could wait for him to start taking orders again. If you are set on AB then you can order a hat from Steve or order the AB Henry. It seems to me, though, that you really want the best. I would suggest looking into one of Steve's or John's hats. Otherwise, I'd wait for Marc to begin taking orders again.

So was I, but considdering what I've heard here of people "in the know" about this hat, it will still be a good buy with the increased price when he will take orders again. That, and the wait times will be a lot shorter ;) However, Steve is still taking orders and the Penman is, according to many here, on par with AB quality wise but a bit more economical.

You've got options, so now it's time to think about what route to take ;) Best of luck!

I will give you a testimonials for Marc kitters Adventurebilt Delux.

Marc is a complete nut. :D He will bend over backwards to make the inside of the hat look so nice. Imagine what he does with the parts of the hat you will see on a daily basses. He has searched high and low to find simple the best materials money can buy. His attention to detail is like no other. I will only wear ( other than my own hats) Mark and Steve's hats anymore. Like someone recently told me to always look up not down. These two gentlemen simple make the very best of Indy hats (or hats in general).
Both these men don't charge what the should for their work. There are other hatters who charge more and their hats aren't made completely by hand like these two guys. The hardest thing about these two guys are the wait time but it is well worth it.

Here is my 3 year old AB Deluxe. I think this was the first one to make it into the US. I had Marc reblock it once while putting in one of his newer sweat bands about 2 years ago. This hat has been through MANY rainstorms, heat, humidity, snow and just about every type of weather possible. It has become like an old friend at this point.

If you can get on Marc's list I would highly reccommend it.
