Pick up by the pinch

Hi all!

I received my Fed IV this past weekend. I immediately bashed it and absolutely love the hat!!!

Now, I know you are not supposed to pick up or remove the hat by the pinch - at least that is what I read. Really, I cannot help but do that. It seems so natural. I don't squeeze the pinch or anything along those lines, but I do tend to pick up and remove it that way.

So, my question is, how do you all pick up and remove your hats? Do most of you really abide by this "rule"?

I know what you mean.

I try to make a conscious effort to hold it by the brim. one hand to each side.

Using the pinch all the time will make that part of the crown dirty fairly quickly, and eventually wear a hole.

I have put my hat on by the pinch, but I end up tugging it down on my head by the brim. I don't put enough pressure on the pinch to mean anything. Otherwise, I put the hat on and take it off by the brim. I want my hat to last.
