VERY HOT tap water, run the collar underneath until it gets nice and spongy, bend and crunch and massage, mould to desired shape, bending repeatedly. I like to wear mine while doing this, letting it dry. Then develop OCD, and keep doing it. The OCD part won't be hard once you're a member here for a while!

Thanks. I'm well on my way to OCD. Is there a 'method / design' for the temple / well of the souls' look etc? Or is it all 'hit and miss'?

Well for that look it needs to be long enough, firstly, and having a lamb jacket will help. You will have to have specced it as such to Wested, or a Nowak will do it n/p. My basic technique is right side rolls over, left side concave like a normal collar.

Thanks again! Could you post some close up pictures to demonstrate what you described?

No problem - for pics - just trawl through my thread here: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=39855

but be warned - there's lots of long/short back talk!

I think the OCD thing is for hats, too.

I can't tell you how many times I've messed with the crowns and brims on my Akubra and my Camptown Legend.

My fiancee says, "Just leave the stupid thing alone, already!"

And I do.

Until I pick them up the next time.

Thanks to this post I finally got the info to do the collar. Just ran my older Wested lambskin under hot water from the faucet and gave the collar some curves. It's probably been discussed before and Ive been outta the loop with the jacket for awhile, but was the raiders jacket actually washed to get the effects we see in the film?

Apparently, depending on who you believe. But it seems to do the trick!
