New novapelle color from Wested?
Has anyone received a newer novapelle jacket from Wested lately? Can you confirm that they are a darker color than earlier batches? I'm thinking of ordering a custom Last Crusade in novapelle, but I already have a washed goat that is very dark, especially with Pecard's applied.
Thanks,
Gooch.

I too would love to see it. I have one on order, LC with black satin lining and (hopefully) screen accurate pocket placement (2 - 2 1/2 inches from bottom). Should be SWEET! I'll post if I get soon.

Here's the color of the last one I got, looks lighter on my current screen than in person, but I am awaiting new samples in the mail. This was on a jacket received back on Feb. 5th:

As far as I know, they have 2 distinct shades of novapelle, the standard which looks grey brown when new and the 'copper' that looks rusty brown when new. The standard can look very dark in certain lights at first.
Here are both the reg and the copper, I don't think that the copper is quite as bright as it appears here, the back background seems to be effecting the colour saturation!

Thank you VP. No. I haven't a sample of the copper with me to colour correct with. And anyway PC's will display it differently so why bother?

Hide is a natural and organic product. There will always be slight variations in colour, unless some sort of artificial top layer has been applied.

Re: New novapelle color from Wested?
I recently (week ago) went into the Wested shop and had the privilege of looking through their various Indy jackets and their mulitude of hides (leather). After much looking and trying I bought a UK made custom LC jacket in Novapelle there and then.
The shade is dark brown (the left jacket in the pic above).
I had a look at the goat and lamb skins but the shade was completely off imo (way too light).
Very happy.

Re: New novapelle color from Wested?
Just got a leather sample today of their latest copper novapelle currently in stock, it is a lighter version of the dark novapelle and is kind of a "slaty" or dull brown in person, on film I think it warms up a bit. My previous post was supposed to be a jacket also in copper novapelle, but is really seemed dark to me. The new copper must be pretty close to the movie leather in my opinion. Pic up soon....

Maybe, but here's what I was told was copper last time around although I still think it might have been a mix up, too darkgwyddion wrote: that looks more like the regular Novapelle to me...

Please note that the images were altered to approximate what was seen in person, not how they usually appear on screen or on film.
