Washed Lamb Color vs. Washed Goat Color
Just wondering if anyone knew which might have a lighter color, or if anyone happened to have side-by-side comparisons of Wested's washed goat vs. their washed lamb. My guess would be washed goat is darker, but I'm only guessing. I looked on Wested's site and separate photos of each jacket looks about the same color. This might be a question for Peter, but I thought it would spare bothering him if someone else on the forum already had the information.

I think that goat is darker. I have the washed lamb only, here's some pics, posted in another thread:

Thanks Indiana Strones & Whiskeyman for the response. It also looks like the pockets on the goat are a little larger. I prefer the lighter shade just because I have a slight aversion to darker leather jackets, I don't like how I look in them. Looks like they both are a nice color, but I guess I prefer the lamb as far as color is concerned, although I suppose they both would look all right on me. If it's too light that is also just a bad as far as Indy jackets are concerned. I of course would prefer the durability of the goat. Thanks again.

I REALLY like Wiskeyman's new jacket. I think the "washed goat" color looks great. I just love how "worn in" the jacket looks right off the rack.
Now are both the washed lamb and goat something Peter is just going to offer for a limited time or are these hides something that are going to be available for a while?
I don't have the money now to buy one BUT I'd like to know I can get one still in the next few months.

This 'LIMITED EDITION' Special offer Raiders is made from special purchase soft brown 'Washed Lambskin'.
There is only enough skin to make 20 jackets (approx). Not repeatable and made to order by size only in our UK factory.

I could've sworn LC pockets were larger because during the movie (LC) , they had to fit the Grail Diary in the jacket...and the Radier's pockets weren't large enough.Indiana Strones wrote:Raiders pockets should be larger than LC, but I think Wested make both the same size, although your LC seems to have larger pockets than your Raiders.
I too am interested int he LC goat version as its a good price and I'm looking for a good replacement for my custom Raiders LS from when I was 18

Re: Washed Lamb Color vs. Washed Goat Color
So, the Washed Goat comes off more "worn in" looking?
I'm ordering a Wested next month and am seriously considering getting it in Goat.
Whats the process difference in "Washed" versus "Authentic"
And has anyone ordered a horse hide wested?
Also, do sliders hold better then D rings? I have D rings on my Raiders Wested and they've never held so good. I had to basically tie them to the rings...

That washed lamb was a limited batch.
The washed goat is ongoing.

The OTR washed goat I got in Oct is much darker, is there a difference in the custom or has the one in the pics had some additional 'distressing'.........?

I would say the washed goat is dark compared to some of the other leathers we see around here, seems so on mine anyway.

Re: Washed Lamb Color vs. Washed Goat Color
I like the look of the Novapelle......is that good leather?
I've owned a Raiders lamb for about 10 years now....I'm ready for something different. I'm heavily thinking on getting a LC washed goat...or if the Novapelle works good....maybe that?

Re: Washed Lamb Color vs. Washed Goat Color
The novapelle is cowhide, thicker and heavier than lamb. (About 3 times the weight), It makes a really good LC/CS (especially the Copper Novapelle for the CS). I've not seen a Raiders in NP. It would probably make a good tough looking one, but would loose much of the drape of the lamb.

I think I'm starting to like novapelle more and more....Great pics btw!! Thanks!!
Re: Washed Lamb Color vs. Washed Goat Color
You'll probably like it a lot more in person. It's a great looking hide which realy improves with age.

Re: Washed Lamb Color vs. Washed Goat Color
...but...I have to say the most recent run of novapelle I've seen is very dark, I would say off black in color, and this is what I was told was their last run of copper novapelle. They are supposed to have in some lighter material again but I'm still awaiting some samples in the mail that never seem to come...
