Will it fit and was it moulded?
I'm looking to get a Jake Johnson Raiders holster. Were the film holsters moulded to the gun, or just left 'plain'. Also would a holster moulded for a 1917 allow a 5" S&W Victory model fit, or will it all go horribly wrong. I need your help. Thanks!

I not an expert, but I believe the ROTLA holster was plain. A victory model is a smaller gun than the 1917 so I can't see why it wouldn't fit.

Thanks, that was what I thought too, however I'm no expert either and it has been said to me that although the frame of the Victory is smaller than the 1917 it may not be as simple as thatsithspawn wrote:I not an expert, but I believe the ROTLA holster was plain. I just can't see clearly enough on my old B&W television

Are you playing a VHS tape on that TV?
Take a look at the IndyGear main site. There's good pictures of the holsters and other than the CS holster none of them seem molded. However, I think what you have here is similar to most gear questions. Most around here do mold their holsters to some degree as part of the distressing process. Once again the convention for what looks good in real life does not reflect true screen accuracy.

Thanks IndiannaJeff. I was really being a bit flippant. I have a colour TV and the film on DVD. However the quality is unlikely to provide the clarity that some here get from their 'extra widescreen lazer turbo HD mirror finish entertainment systems' (the above system is made by Sony, but I'm sure oter manufacturers varients are available)

I figured as much. I'm stuck in the early 21st century myself with a DVD and CRT television. I can't even count individual whiskers on Ford. How can I even enjoy the movie watching experience?

That's exactly what I say to my other half, but she's not buying it.Indiana Jeff wrote:I figured as much. I'm stuck in the early 21st century myself with a DVD and CRT television. I can't even count individual whiskers on Ford. How can I even enjoy the movie watching experience?

A Model 1917 was an N frame. The 'victory' model was a K frame...MUCH smaller. It will fit, but the strap will be too long to pull the flap down over the gun. You'll need the second hole in the strap to pull it down tighter.
