Looks great on you, thecoolmiester! It's nice to see another Peters Brothers hat again. You might want to reduce the size of the pics a bit, though.

Re: My new peters bros Hat
This hat doesn't have the severe amount of taper that the stiff PBs I've seen have. Is it the felt that reacts differently or do they block the soft rabbit hats on a different block. I really like this hat. Great looking hat and congrats. Welcome to the madness.

Looks good on you TCM! Now that you've been bit by the gear bug, say good bye to the college funds. Just kidding. The hat looks great and welcome!

I suspected that. I have one as well, but wasn't sure that's what you had. VERY nice hat indeed!thecoolmiester wrote:Michaelson wrote:EXCELLENT proportions too! VERY nice hat! Is that the rabbit or beaver?

That's a great looking hat! I too have a custom PB raiders on the way and can not wait. I was wondering though, what are the dimensions of your hat? I would have to agree that everything looks very proportionate.
Re: My new peters bros Hat
Great hat, kid!!!!
If you don't mind me asking, how much did it set you back?

Not NOW they don't but there was a time...theinterchange wrote:Looks very good! PB never seem to get much attention, thanks for posting!

PB's have always been fine hats. Not only are they extremely well-made and screen accurate but they're one of the toughest hats available! It seems to be a lighter brown than they once were! I like it!
Great purchase! It looks great on you!

well actually it isn't proportionate at all.
Crown: 6in
Brim sides: <2 1/2
Brim front: a bit >2 1/2
the reason for this is because i sent it back for a re block because
it was 3 sizes too small, and in the process of the reblock i lost
some brim.
i am actually thinking of someday sending it to Marc of adventurebilt to have 1/2
crown pulled down to brim.

What he means is, how much did it cost you?
Re: My new peters bros Hat
Back in the olden days (like 3 years ago or so), when people said "How much did that set you back?", they meant "How much did you pay for that?"thecoolmiester wrote:ummm... not too much, i guess.maboot38 wrote:Great hat, kid!!!!

I was just wondering what the hat cost you.

Re: My new peters bros Hat
If you lost that much on the brim I would look into a reblock and have the brim blocked at around 5 1/4''. Why did you accept the hat after they have resized it and lost so much brim? You should have asked for a new one with the proper proportions. If you like the way it looks then its not a problem. But if you don't think its proportionate to YOU, then I would have sent it back for a new one. But, what's done is done. Having someone reblock the hat wouldn't set you back too much. I don't know how long the wait for a reblock with Marc is, but he can work some magic. If you do want that reblock with him, I'd get a place in line now.thecoolmiester wrote:Bdgsi11 wrote:That's a great looking hat! I too have a custom PB raiders on the way and can not wait. Regardless of the brim size, I think it looks good on you. I wouldn't change it at all.

I accepted it as is because i really didn't want to wait any longer. I know usually
a reblock from PB doesn't take too long but i sent it back right before that hat
show they have, so i got a lil impatient and just said screw it.
I do think it looks okay but i plan on getting a Christy's and a grey fed 4 anyway
so i may send my PB to marc once i get those hats or i may just leave it as is still.

Re: My new peters bros Hat
If you like how it looks then leave it be. Its always good to have hats with different dimensions as opposed to having the same specs on your hats just made by different people and with different felts. Variety is your friend.

Re: My new peters bros Hat
I agree with Dave and will add that SA specs, while fun to try and achieve, if they look silly or are not flattering to your face, is not much good. I think that those proportions look perfectly suited to your face! Nice lid! Far and away the nicest PB hat I've seen in a while.
