TN Last Crusade Jacket #6 of III

Post by orb »

First of all I want to thank the following people who helped me with advices and stuff to get this jacket right!
Tony Nowak  :notworthy:
RCSignals
Kevin Anderson
crismans
Han Jones
Indiana Holt

I received my LC jacket today and I was stunned. Everything, every little detail have been nailed! I really had a bad conscience about my spec list.
Because it was so #### long! I also talked with Tony almost 2 hours via phone in the last few weeks.
90% of my spec list were in Tony's head so he really knows how to make a perfect LC jacket!
Finally he made the jacket! Finally the wait is over and finally I can close the chapter (really?) about Indy Jackets!
I got the Italian Cowhide (same as Han Jones) which Tony originally researched for me. I love that hide! It's just a bit stiff at the moment.
I won't share more photos for a while now because I need to wear this jacket first!
Tony also send me a World Bodybuilding Championship Jacket and a Arnold T-Shirt as a gift! \:D/
He also made me a Bag for my Mutt Jacket as promised! It's really a great day for me! I cannot recommend getting in touch with big Tony even more!

Pics of the jacket will be ready in a few hours. I have promised RC that he will be the first to see the pics. Sorry guys!

Custom made for Gerald...White?

I love Tony's signature. I wonder if that's a natural signature or if he practiced and came up with a good one to sign his work with as most artists do?

Can't wait to see this jacket! I know you spent a ton of time and effort researching it to get everything just right. Another reason I want to see it is that I'm gearing up for another jacket myself and am not above stealing other's specs if I like them better than mine! ;)

OK fellows! I think RC got his chance.

http://www.bilder-hochladen.net/files/big/7426-34.jpg
The collar needs to get trained a bit.

http://www.bilder-hochladen.net/files/big/7426-31.jpg
I even asked for the press studs to be placed different as on the CS jacket.

http://www.bilder-hochladen.net/files/big/7426-32.jpg
Tony couldn't make the piping of the flap smaller. He said it have to be this way or the pocket cannot hold the flap!
He made it small as possible!

http://www.bilder-hochladen.net/files/big/7426-33.jpg

http://www.bilder-hochladen.net/files/big/7426-37.jpg
As everyone can see the jacket needs to get worn! The leather is a bit from the stiffer side.
I love the smell of it! or is it Indy G's junk food?
There are no leather facings by the zipper. Lining is Raiders Brown.

my most honest opinion,I think it looks okay.

it looks a tad to big on you. especially the sleeves.

there are still some features lacking on the jacket that would make it even more SA. like pocketplacement and the flap is way to scalloped. looks like a raiders flap. but still it is a nice jacket with a good SA wibe to it.

I am not knocking down on your jacket, I know people may read it like that. but that may be the people who dont know me and dont know how high I set the SA list.

but nice jacket.

congrats!

According to Tony you shouldn't change the pocket placement! This would destroy the look of the jacket!
He said the same about changing the size of the stormflap.
So that's what too much SA is for...
The sleeves are Raiders sized. Looks maybe big because how the leather drapes. Drape changes everything.
I respect your opinion Holt :)

I know you aren't knocking his jacket Holt.
Take a look at the photos again though, and of the Chicago and Smithsonian jackets. The pocket placement is very close. The scalloping is there too, it all depends on the angle the photos were taken.

Have you ordered yours yet?

Im glad you understand were Im comming from.

yes its true..the pocketplacement will make the jacket look alittle weird..like I have said to several members here in pm's

but if its SA your after you have to go with the weird look

I think as you wear the jacket the leather will ease up and wrinkle more. the same sleeves on your Raider jacket look fine.

now wear it constantly for at least a week

I dont need to take a look at anything. I have studied close up shots of the smithsonian pockets and I can tell you that the pocketflaps are WAY different. placement too.

take my word for it.

but its close, but not true to the real pocket and pocketplacement.

pocket size looks very good. flap looks good but the shape throws it a bit of...

everybody...dont get me wrong..it is one of the best LC's out there.. like Han jones's jacket....but I just am a little obsessed with details..thats why I say its ''nice'' or ''okay''

Very nice jacket. I love this leather and the distressing! Top notch work all around! I think once you wear it some, the wrinkling of the sleeves will give you even more of the LC look. I really like the size you came up for the pockets. Holt's right about the placement but I think I'd go for the "normal" placement you have. That's what makes this jacket hobby so great. You can go for more of a "real-world" look or SA look based on your tastes.

I am so glad you are happy with you jacket, I know how much thought you put into it. I think the leather we have is second to none for LC. What size pocket and flaps did you end up with. Wear it in good health, I couldn't be happier for you.

Very 'Last Crusade'!
Thanks for all your help too with my jacket order. The 'Raiders' sleeves on a Crystal Skull jacket worked out
perfectly; they're baggy enough to look cool, but the openings aren't too huge. Just what I wanted!

chagwa my new favourite is the LC jacket.
The leather is tough as nails and looks really great. It resembles the same drape from the movie IMO.

I went again for 1:1 HF CS size but with Raiders Sleeves and Armholes, Sleeves 25.5", Backlength 26", Shoulder 7"
Pit to pit is 22".
I'm doing some workout a few weeks now. I'm hoping to get wider shoulders in time, then the jacket should fit even better.
Rikimaru! It normally works this way sending your sizing specs to Tony! Just measure a jacket that fits you.

Use this sizing guide btw. Your welcome! Just ask if you have any questions.

Well I would love selling my two Wested TODs and get one from Tony... but that original hardware thing would bother me a bit.
I don't know if Tony can source this hardware... I'm sure he would say: It's america! everything is possible ;)
Maybe later that year. I will now get a non Indy jacket from Tony very soon.

The Westeds have many flaws. It seem they replicated even all the bad things very well. Especially the lining.
The thread of both my sleeves of my washed goat came loose. Well done!
I got two TOD jackets, lambskin and washed goat, same sizing and the fit on each is way different. Why?
I wanted no backbone marks.. well I got two.
It seems that their NH specs vary from jacket to jacket and I really don't like any of their leathers they offer for they TOD jacket.
Too much failures on a 210 Euro jacket. I should have saved it for TN or the church
