Showing off my Mag/HJ/AB Raiders Fedora

Post by suburbancomics »

Well the time has finally come to post some pictures of my Indy hat. For years I was only equipped with a DP Disney hat (which I did pass down to a young family member) which obviously just wasn't gonna cut it. So I set my sites on the Magnoli/HJ. Some of you might remember me from when I first got my hat that there was some damage to the front of the hat. Well Magnoli and Steve were top notch, and replaced my hat in the blink of an eye. Thanks guys. I have sat on the hat, beat it around a little, and applied a touch of fullers earth to it (sorry Michaelson, I am too impatient to let my hat age on its own ;) ). I really don't know exactly if I am on the right path to getting a SOC look(especially from the sides), so feedback would be greatly appreciated. I really love my fedora, and this being my first real Indy hat I am trying to experiment with it, although I am at times a little nervous to ruff it up too much. Well without further ado, here is my hat!!!!!! :D

Very nice looking Mag/AB HJ! Steve does great work and this is the closest you can get to a REAL Raiders HJ. Congrats!

I can't really add much to this but.. wow! Great hat you've got there! Suits you. I must say I like your shirt, too.

Lots of character in that hat. It really goes well with your overall look. Like it has always been a part of you. Awesome.

Anyone who has a question as to the floppiness of the Mag/HJ/AB hat should look no further than these pics. Nice Job!

The hat is indeed floppy and very soft Hollowpond. Although I want to eventually get it even floppier. I was watching Raiders and noticed that when Indy is riding the horse the wind against him flips the brim of the hat up. Now that is floppy!

Alphared: I measured the crown it is 5 1/4 tall.

Thanks again for all the kind words everyone!

Suburbancomics, anyone ever tell you that you look like Mr. Incredible from The Incredibles?

Hahaha, so funny you should say that! My friend has been trying to convince me for the last couple of years now that I should go to Comic-con as Mr. Incredible. He keeps telling me that I look like him! I'd like to think I look more like the blue costumed Mr. Incredible, but I know I am going to have to go and start lifting some trains, otherwise I'm the in retirement version of Mr. Incredible. ;) Thanks for the compliment Ulloa.
