Probably a dumb question on coiling a whip
Howdy, folks; I noticed that when I got my latest whip, it was apparently "trained" to coil in one direction. Can I expect this to loosen up with use, or are whips always assumed to do this? I notice that in all the whip care sites, they tell you to store it loosely coiled. If I try to coil it against the bend, it simply twists back to its most "comfortable" state. Normal?

It happened also on my nylon whips.
after a little while, it should roll naturally any direction.
I guess that how you see how well made a whip is.
If it breaks in nicely and roll smoothly, good whip.

From what I read, I don't think you're actually to suppose to coil it against the natural curve. If anything, I think that would probably be bad for the whip.Capt.Herp wrote:Howdy, folks; I noticed that when I got my latest whip, it was apparently "trained" to coil in one direction. Yes, take it out for drinks, perhaps a nice movie - you know- quality time.
