Reacquiring a Wested

Post by jts1031 »

Early last year (2008), due to moving, getting married, and just needing to lighten the load, I parted with all of my collection. I said goodbye to a Wested, two Peters Bros hats, a 10ft Joe Strain, and a pair of Aldens. I must confess I don't miss the Aldens as they weren't that comfortable in my opinion. But the other things I hated to see go.

Now that things have settled down, I'm able to start filling in the gaps. I've been cracking a whip since I was 5, so I've got an order in with purewhips for an 8 footer. I find that to be the ideal length to crack, as I do intend to use it and not let it just be a decoration. But the one thing I'm looking forward to a lot is a Horsehide LC/CS Wested, which I just recently ordered. I don't care much about screen accuracy, as I don't look like Ford, and nothing I do or wear will get me any closer to that. I just wanted a quality leather jacket that will be around for a while. The last update I had said Processing, so I don't know how long the wait will be, but I'm certainly looking forward to it. Down the road, I'll probably look at Peters Bros for a new hat, but it's certainly not a priority right now...

Sounds good. I suspect in about 30 days you should have your new jacket then you'll have to show us!

There ae a lot of options for hats now too.
