Ahhhh, what about Mick and Keith pulling off the 'Rolling Stones' look in their 60's........must be all that 'clean living'........remember Letterman saying one time if THE BOMB ever went off he expected cockroaches and Keith Richards to be among the survivors.....

I'd say Mick and Keith have been a visual joke for 25 years now. Sure they survive, but so does fast food and platonium.

Speaking of biker jackets, does anyone have any experience with Wested's "Brando/Mutt" jacket? They are sellling them awfully cheap... :)

Not SA Mutt jackets, of course, but how do they measure up for general purpose use?

I dont think so at all, I dont care if you ride or not. It was originally intended for riding but I think the punks made it more of a fashion statement, becoming a symbol for rebellion. What I think is a disaster is when I see some guido on a new Harley wearing a freaking velour sweatsuit and nikes, makes me wanna puke. I'm old school tho, I think bikes and leather should only be black. As far as age goes, I'll never forget the time I was standing outside the Million Dollar Cowboy Bar in Jackson Wyoming and a guy pulled up decked out in full leathers covered in road grit, he looked like he was eighty years old and on a sportster too boot, he said he just rode in from North Dakota. I thought ####, when I'm that age I hope I can still do that.

Michaelson, An image that is cemented in my mind is when I was about four years old, this is back in the 60's now ;) , I was with my father in a garage where he was picking his car up from getting fixed, 66 Bonneville, and a biker pulls up on a Harley trike decked out in all beat up leathers, the guy gets off and he has one leg. Tall skinny wearthered looking dude. I thought I had seen an alien or something. I think I knew right there that I was gonna ride a Harley one day, found out later on that my great grandfather was a competitive hill climber, raced Harley's and Indians. So I guess its in my blood.

I was sitting in a small Tracy City, TN bakery yesterday, built in 1902, drinking a glass of sweet iced tea (they didn't have any coffee brewed :? ), and watched biker after biker riding off the mountain heading down route 41 toward Chattanooga.

Every other rider that rode by on an ancient Harley (though each bike in perfect condition) had on old welders goggles and full leathers that looked like they had at LEAST 30 years of road grit on them, and these men had grey beards flapping over their shoulders, and NO lady rider on the back with them.

Every man jack of them were wearing these classic jackets too, so they are indeed a 'tool of the road' and as much a part of the equipment as their helmet or bike. These guys were the serious road warriors. ;)

I don't think all Motorcycle jackets need to be black.
I really like the Schott #585
