If you want
good replacement hat band
, get some from Steve, Penman or me. Not peeing on any other vendor (if you look closely, you'll see that I recomended Penman as well), but there's a difference between real Raiders grosgrain ribbon and petersham ribbon and it's not only the price.

Marc

I bolded the last part....IMHO....it's also the color...petersham comes out purple...The ribbon that SD, Penman and MK use....spot on match.

Er, are we supposed to know who sells a petersham ribbon and what it is?

Look at the very edge of the ribbon. It should be finished ( a true grosgrain) Unfinished would be the petersham.

Many of us have gotten our Petersham type ribbons from Todd's Costumes. I "upgraded" my old Dorfman Pacific with it, but I can see how it is said to be incorrect. If you want the EXACT ribbon, I would get a ribbon from Steve or Penman. They have the right ribbon.

matt,
If you're looking for a ribbon to put on that DP you ordered, you probably should have said it right at the beginning of this thread... Marc might not have recommended his (or John's) ribbon for THAT hat!

Actually, for the DP, I recommend you fashion a ribbon out of a kerosine soaked rag. The go outside and play with sparklers over the hat (NOT while wearing it).

Cool.
After I wrote that, I was worried that between THIS thread and your "Just HAD to do it!" thread, that you'd feel like we were pickin' on ya!
You're a good sport, matt.
Cheers!

Well, since the question has been answered and it's starting to meander, it's time to close this one down. Good luck with the ribbon! ;)
