May look lighter with flash, 'golden hour' close to sunset, and his time in the dust of his corral.....or may just need Michaelson to rub a little Pecard's on....

Yes it does - it's his anniversary! I don't know if it's ACTUALLY lighter than most CS jackets, but he didn't put it on until we took the pictures, so it's not covered in dust or anything. Maybe he just picked a different hide?Dutch_jones wrote:does 329 stand for march 29th?
Is de longis's jacket lighter than most TN 4th indy jacket? I mean I thought it was darker than that?

It looks just like mine (in texture and colour) did before I pecarded it. Mine was very suede-like, I wasn't too into it. But now the fuzziness, suede like quality is gone, and I really like the look.Dutch_jones wrote:does 329 stand for march 29th?

I think it's partly the photos. They seem to look different shades in different conditions maybe more than other leathers.McFly wrote:....... Mine I think has darkened just in wearing it.
Re: Nowak Jacket Owners Thread
Agree. mine has darkened and taken on more of a smooth patina especially around collar, cuffs....where handled or in contact with skin oils.....the more you wear it the better........similar to light Pecard's (which I haven't done) ....

Mine still came with the Indy1 patch.
But it wouldn't surprise me if he's just standardising so he can use the same bags across all his jackets in general.

Re: Nowak Jacket Owners Thread
I don't think that's the case. It's just embroidering the patch and sewing it on, makes no real difference, unless he really is cranking out dozens of jackets a day.Yojimbo Jones wrote:Mine still came with the Indy1 patch.

I think it's more likely, that he realized Castor didn't need *5* bags with the Indy IV patch, and thought he'd shake things up with his new jacket, of which we haven't seen any pictures.

MOD EDIT. Blatent baiting. Peter you've been warned about this plenty of times. Knock it off.
Re: Nowak Jacket Owners Thread
Peter,
How many warnings/suspensions will it take for you to stop bashing other vendors? We've tried to make you realize that it is being noticed by the membership and is costing you business. Yet you continue to do so.
Last warning. Please cease your war with Tony as well as your (almost constant nowadays) attacks on other vendors or you will find yourself unable to log in.
I'm sorry that this is being stated publicly, but private emails and suspensions don't seem to be doing the trick anymore.

Peter,
We need look no further than this morning, including the post you deleted before you thought we found it. You don't want to drag this out in the open. Just because we "MOD EDIT" posts doesn't mean they don't still exist. Believe me, we're keeping track.
For record, here's this morning's barbs, which you've been warned about. Don't try to play innocent.

We won't get pulled into a he said/he said fight. I suggest you step away from the computer for a while and cool down before we're caused to take more drastic actions.PETER wrote:You have got to be joking! Work it out for yourself. But I'm quite sure if you ask for a LC jacket with the Indy4 Cowhide or any other cheaper leather? like goat.. the price will be 750usd. It's just because of the premium Italian Cowhide...
Novapelle, a top quality hide used by me is $2.80 per foot. Goatskin approx $2.20 per foot which is why I charge $15 extra for Novapelle.
_ says I make more money per jacket than TN when I think he makes more profit per jacket than I even charge for a jacket.
Why do I bother reading this forum. I'm out of here!

For me the statement Original in Tony's Label stands for quality and craftmanship. It's not about if Tony himself invented the Jacket.PETER wrote:Nowak should have a new label not a new bag. Without the word 'ORIGINAL' maybe 'Top Copier'.

Han Jones, you must be a rich guy your jackets, the C3PO, R2D2, Han Solo in Carb....good lord man!
Re: Nowak Jacket Owners Thread
I am not a rich man by any means. I do work alot in fact I have worked since I was 12 and I am now 30. Plus most all of my props were built by my brother and I so they cost much less than buying them from a dealer. I also have been collecting for 10 years.

Sorry for the little offtopic there ;P

Re: Nowak Jacket Owners Thread
Mine continues to break in quite nicely, though I haven't had a chance to take pics recently. I'm also not afraid to wear it in the rain, though it's never been a sheer downpour whenever rain and my jacket are together. I'll try to get a new pic or two soon.

Re: Nowak Jacket Owners Thread
As far as breaking in, mine seems to still fit me the same as it did in the beginning, although I thought it was a good fit when it got here already anyway... And it did seem 'broken in' already, so to speak!
The only real difference now is that along the side of the jacket without the stormflap, it seems to be a bit more warped... But I think this is because I tugged at it quite a bit in the beginning .

Re: Nowak Jacket Owners Thread
Mine has been in a pretty substantial rain and I even washed it to cut down a little shine. It came out of the wash as a spongy mass of goo.
Seriously though, it came through like a champ with no ill effects.

Re: Nowak Jacket Owners Thread
Yes, back on the rails...
So regarding TN1s breaking in. Here's a word of caution. I just took a car trip wearing #13, the new shrunken lamb. I thought it would be good to get some good wearing time to get the jacket to conform nicely. The car has a light leather interior and the jacket left brown smudges on both the door and center armrests. (I was not amused). I'm going to see what I can find that will remove that, but it is annoying . There was no visible change to the jacket elbows, but grrrrrr. Not happy about this.
I never had such a thing happen with the G&B Raiders jacket I had. Not sure what's up with the dye. Anyway, be careful. It's been breaking in beautifully otherwise, but that is something to look out for.

So, yeah, do you use any sort of treatment on your seats? I've been wearing it in mine with no ill-effects that I've noticed.

Re: Nowak Jacket Owners Thread
No, I haven't put anything on the car or the jacket. I haven't been able to get the red-brown smudging off either. It's not on the seats, but rather the door armrest and center armrest.
Re: Nowak Jacket Owners Thread
Tibor,You might want to check closely sometimes the armrests especially on doors ,consoles are simulated leather ie plastic.....might want to try some 409 or similar cleaning product or consult auto detailer they can usually solve most stain problems.....haven't had similar problem with leather in Tahoe or Mercedes 360 with light interiors but I've got the original shrunken lamb but doubt if difference in basic tanning process.....good luck......
