It still looks as if the collar hits the stormflap right at the zipper, but if you say it does, then I believe you -- I thought that it had on all the TN's until it looked as if it didn't to me in that pic. Not a big deal anyway, as I could always specify that in my (potential) order. :D

What you are seeing in the photo is just the perspective illusion.
Tony will make the jacket to pattern adjusting only for size unless you specifically ask for a change.

As I said, if you say it does, then it does -- I'm not disputing it. And I know that Tony will basically do anything you ask him to. I really have to start selling off some other thing to fund a TN!!

Hatch and Craig, thanks a lot.

Tyrloch, you are not wrong at all. At least in my jacket the collar is aligned with the zipper. I don't mind that at all, I even prefer it this way.
But, just to dig a little bit more in this topic: it seems to me that the Hawaii jacket collar tends to be much more aligned with the zipper than other jackets in the movie. If you look at this picture you will see what I mean.

http://s584.photobucket.com/albums/ss28 ... nt=r95.jpg

Of course it is not completely clear, but to my eyes even the length between the upper part of the storm flap and the beginning of the collar seems to be a tad larger. It also has a pointed storm flap, not a rounded one.
But then, I am just speculating...

I'd say that last photo shows the collar centered as well.
I see it the same on your jacket but you have it so you should know. The teeth of the zipper itself almost extends to the center of the storm flap anyway, at least in the first half of it.
Your collar stand end also looks squared, not rounded.

To tell you the truth RC and G, I haven't got any knowledge about this things, and I don't understand very much what you mean exactly (ejem) . You people know much better than me, so I will let you decide ;) . In any case, and just to show you much clearly how the collar of my jacket is placed, here you have another picture.

That's what I see too. When I look at mine from the same angle (end of the collar stand) it looks like that picture.

I'm going to guess that your collar is a little shorter being your jacket is smaller. Anyway, if you look at it from the other side, is the end of the collar centered over the storm flap?

That seams to be the right place :-k

If anyone has doubts you kan always show them the outside part of that configuration so they can see that when the colar lines up with the zipper-teeth, the colar starts in the middle of the stormflap.

The zipper position may actually be a bit of a red herring as the position of the collar goes.

One more thing worth noticing about your jacket is that it is narrow in the armpit to armpit area, unlike wested's, and that helps avoiding the bell hop effect.

It is narrow, indeed. That's why it feels much better not zipping it all the way up. Of course you can do it and it works perfectly, but is much more comfortable if you just leave it past the middle. By the way, That's why the jacket tends to lift while you raise the arms. And, of course, no flying squirrel effect at all.

I just asked for a darker goat than the one we see in Han Jones' Jacket. So I guess you could call it dark brown goat. Nevertheless, if you want to be sure about it, just ask Tony about leather used in #073/888, which is the number of my jacket. I don't know if it is the same one as Raider S, because that one was supposed to be taken from an older batch if I am not mistaken, and I think there was not much left of it...

Is this the "special" limited-edition 30-year old goat or just the regular goat Tony uses?

I just got my Raiders jacket in dark goat as well about a week ago. I went down to Tony's shop 3 days ago and just talked jackets and movies for about 2 hours. Really a great guy. I'm really happy with the jacket.

From what Tony told me, he had a very limited amount of that dark goatskin, and he's waiting for more to come in. He has a couple of jackets waiting to be made from that particular leather, including one for himself. From what I understand, the dark goat is imported from one particular place in Italy. He said it took him a while to find it.

Having looked and looked and looked at a LOT of jackets here over the last year or so, I'd always identified myself as a "a WESTED Man (with an appreciative eye onwhat Tony was doing)"...
;)

But after seeing Raskolnikov's TN Jacket, I've got to admit... I've got some serious thinkin' to do...
:-k

But, whatever becomes of me, either way:

I'm in mad passionate love with the vintage goat. I don't think it's for everyone, it's not all "Raiders" drapey, but I don't care. I'd get a Michael Jackson thriller jacket made of the stuff just to have a jacket out of the leather.

Just have to figure out how to come up with $975 now! :)

Man do I love your descriptions, NB. I've been waiting to see Rask's jacket after a bit of life has happened to it, to see if it's for me. Now there's almost too much goodness to choose from.

I think I'm heading for the striations too, but the durability of the goat is sooo nice to have. Are you getting rock it baby rock it goat, or bad bad man goat?

I love that striation lamb and I agree it would make a wonderful temple jacket (or have Tony match the panels for you and I'd bet you could get the Flying Wing jacket as well.

I don't need another Raiders jacket though. I really don't! ](*,)
