'Attaching An Indy Bag Strap' ~ NEW VIDEO!

Post by Wade Egan »

Hey guys!

I've seen it on here before, and some of my customers ask me 'how the heck do I put this strap on the bag?'

I know you die hards out there just chuckle at this, but to be fair, if it's your first bag strap and you've never done it before it may not be so obvious. So, for all of those who need a little direction on how to attache a bag strap to the MKVII, I have made a short tutorial video. To follow shortly will be an introduction to the Super Whip Holder, and a short Indy 'spoof' featuring some of your favorite Indy characters along with a little whip target practice clip.

Enjoy and let me know how you like it.

Good Idea.

Though personally, after looking at so many bags on here, I was able to put my strap on without a hitch. :D

Cool video. I've never seen a satchel strap put on that way. Usually, the buckle is not permanently attached to the strap, and you have to close both ends with Chicago screws, rather than just the back side. Or maybe I've just been doing it the hard way all these years. :o

I figure most of us know how to do it because we have been looking at these bags like fiends for so many years. 8-[]
I do, however, get some emails from new fans who haven't gotten as in depth as some of us. So this video is primarily geared to the new fan and/or the brand new MKVII owners. I remember taking a minute to figure out my first bag strap as it came without the buckle and screws attached. :-k

My hope was just to help someone who needed it with the basic tutorial. I'm also just testing my webcam so I can chat online with babes. lol. :-

Take it easy,

I've never had a problem. But, never assume everyone knows how to do these things. Nice Job!

The first time I put my strap on is when I realized the part that's doubled over goes in the front.. I had never paid attention to that till then. :[

Very clear, and easy to follow video. A first timer should have no problem following right along. [Provided they can operate a screwdriver.]

Working on the guitar straps tomorrow and Tuesday. Going to have all of the prototypes photographed by then so I can add them to the website. I'll definitely post when they're ready!

We're doing the Super Whip Holder video today and the whip demonstration video tomorrow. So I'll have those up shortly as well.

nice video.

About how far from the bag have you placed the buckle?

Todd's I think recommends about 18". 18" seems high but with the bag worn more to the rear, the buckle falls on the chest about where you see it in the film.

What distance from the bag have other people placed the buckle?

On buckle placement:

I measure each strap according to the height of the wearer. That way, the buckle will sit in the middle of the chest no matter who wears the strap. One size does not fit all when it comes to these straps as everyone is different and/or wears their bag differently.

Thanks man. This will come in really handy.

I found this useful as I am a complete noob to all this who as yet hasn't got any decent Indy gear and aim to get a bag as soon as I can find a good one.

Cheers
