So I guess I missed Something....
When did Nowak start offering every individual pattern. Raiders, TOD, LC & CS? I thought he just had the 1st and last?...
where'd he get these patterns? How long have I been out of the loop?!
Thanks guys
Matt

Well, I haven't followed it closely because I know I can't afford one. But I'm fairly sure he added a style every few months since the last QM Summit.
Re: So I guess I missed Something....
basicly he began to make the jackets b/c people wanted him to let him do his take on the other styles.
these new styles are all fan based jackets, non of the new are made from the originals.

I guess that makes me out of the loop too. Besides, not like I've been following Nowak's threads due to me not being able to afford one of his jackets.
Re: So I guess I missed Something....
Well, to me, Mr. Nowak might as well as be called Mr. Midas because everything I've seen so far from this guy is absolute gold! I'm not a stitch Nazi like some of you guys here but to my eyes, his CS, LC, ToD, and Raiders are the best replica Indy jackets I've ever seen! (I am fortunate to have a CS and a shrunken lamb Raiders, and they are without a doubt the best Indy jackets I've ever owned.....and I've owned 15 Indy jackets over the years). Yes his jackets are expensive.....but the best usually are. Why waste money on inferior replicas when a Nowak gives you the best fitting, best looking, most durable Indy jackets on the planet.

Re: So I guess I missed Something....
I know you really mean that PSB - you used to complain about the price every second post you made - big turnaround! I'm in kind of the same boat - I've only had mine a week and I'm already thinking "Yes! THIS is that I was expecting the first time I bought an Indy jacket... and more!"PSBIndy wrote:Yes his jackets are expensive.....but the best usually are.

Yes. The Raider and Indy 4 are based on originals. (However TN did apparently have the Smithsonian LC at one time)Indiana Holt wrote:basicly he began to make the jackets b/c people wanted him to let him do his take on the other styles.

Han asked TN to make I'm a ToD and an LC, to his specs. That's about the extent of the story there. Han can chime in.
That said, with the exception of the Wested NH ToD, what other maker jackets are not fan based in some way?
Re: So I guess I missed Something....
His LC is fantastic. Not convinced by his ToD yet, but I like where he's heading.

Yes, you have to remember though, for both they are what Han asked for, not necessarily meant to be an 'accurate' copy of an original.CM wrote:His LC is fantastic. Not convinced by his ToD yet, but I like where he's heading.
The LC is fantastic, and even the ToD looks good on Han.

Well, I've met and 'broken bread ' with Han at DragonCon, and, unfortunately for the rest of us, he's one of those singular individuals that looks good in just about ANY gear he decides to wear.
He has them made to his exact specificiations, so instead of putting on just a jacket or hat, they're extensions of himself.
Rather un-nerving to see this.
Speaking for myself, I just look like I'm putting on a piece of gear. He BECOMES the gear.
Anyway, back to topic.....
Regards! Michaelson

It is a very satisfying experience working with him.........you actually do 'get what you pay for'....never been disapointed when opening one of his boxes and never regretted the extra cost.......jmoPSBIndy wrote:Well, to me, Mr. Nowak might as well as be called Mr. Midas because everything I've seen so far from this guy is absolute gold! haha, yeah I guess I have... That Nowak thread is like a maze!, I followed it for a while, stopped and the next time I checked it out the posts had doubled!, needless to say, I don't have that much time for one topic : (
But yeah I agree, I was at first very resilient to the prices Mr. Nowak pursued, but the guy has grown on me, and his product of course. The guy certainly seems to value his market, so much so that he employs that asianajones?? guy to keep up with COW and inform him on the low down. that's cool.
Thanks for commenting and getting me back in the loop!,

I do hope we can break bread in the future my freind.
Here are the Nowak styles. The Rola and CS patterns were already established so Tony worked out together the LC and ToD. I never have claimed the to be 100% SA just 100% what I wanted.
Re: So I guess I missed Something....
Han, there appears to be some sort of ancient ruin under you. Clear the edges!
Great jackets. I don't think you look half bad in Witness gear. Granted, a beard would help, but not bad at all.
I'm leaning towards a very SA dark goat Nowak Raiders. To date, I've tended to ask for extra length, which is nice for some looks, but I'd like to add one in more of a jacket-look, than the coat-look I currently have.
How do you like your goat Raiders. How's the drape in the back?

Oh, I don't know. You look just like some of the locals down here in that photo. We see Amish in our local Wal-Mart all the time! Only the married men wear beards, by the way.Han Jones wrote: There is some gear I should not wear...Witness gear

Makes me want a glass of lemonade on the porch.

"Only the married men wear beards, by the way."
I knew that; just didn't know Han was single. No ring, but I know folks who don't bother with such things.
A fine look, nonetheless.

HJ, where's your Frantic gear?
Re: So I guess I missed Something....
Han, you crack me up! Is that a genuine Amish hat?
Here's a challenge for you...
Go to Langley, stand in front of the CIA building, and wear an outfit posing as Dr. Jack Ryan!

Every look can be pulled off, but a man’s got to know his limitations. Beards can be cool. Nobody wore them better than the Dubliners.
But when you go too far, you end up looking stupid, like ZZ Top or something. It’s a good lesson to learn.

Good post Rundquist. Some of those Dubliners beards look 'glued on' though
