Got my Todd's Standard!

Post by Nos402 »

I first came to Indygear many years ago when I first hear of "Wested, The company that made the original Indy jackets". Over the years I've constantly debated whether to get an Indy jacket and if so, which one. I kept talking myself out of it because I knew it wasn't a jacket I would probably wear all the time because I have other jackets i like better. Not to mention the debates over which one is "best" in various ways.

However the itch never left after all these years so I figured it was time to scratch it. I always thought that eventually I would add one to my collection. My roommate caught the bug from me and ended up getting a Todd's Standard. I've had a good year in my acting career so I decided to finally treat myself, especially since Todd's was so affordable. After a last minute dilemma debating over Todd's or a Wested Special Offer ROLA, I ended up going with Todd's due to it being slightly cheaper and supposedly very screen accurate. Again, this was going to be a "secondary" jacket in my wardrobe.

After debating Medium or Large I went with Large since Todd's site says that all exchanges are always for a size up. I found the measurements listed on Todd's site very strange since larger sizes sometimes have smaller measurements than smaller sizes (for example the M has shorter sleeves than the S, and the M+ has a shorter length than the M).

It arrived today and I'm quite happy with it! First off it is darker than my roommate's and we both agree that the leather seems nicer and just a little heavier (which I like since my roommate's Todd's Standard seemed VERY thin when I first handled it). The more I wear it the more I'm digging it. It'll be even better once I break it in a bit and get the collar shaped a little better (once the "folds" from shipping settle down).

And even thought I know you've all seen a thousand pics of Todd's Jackets, I'd hate to have someone tell me

;0

So here's a couple of crappy ones. This is the jacket right out o the box. Do you Todd's owners generally use some Pecards on it or not?

Nice jacket! Every time I see a Todd's jacket, it just looks Raiders! It looks awesome. I have read that some people use Pecards on it, to keep it safe.

Nice! I love mine. I have three Indy jackets, two A-2's and a couple other leather jackets. I have come to the conclusion that lamb skin is the way to go. I love my G&B lamb, it's heavier than the Todd's but still real soft.

Here I am in my G&B that I recently bought from Schmidty612, a fellow COWer.

Excellent! It looks like you got a perfect fit. As far as leather dressing goes, it won't need it anytime soon, but a light coat will make the jacket look like new when you do use it.
