Oh for God's sake.
It's impossible to get a straight answer around here.
What does a pink rabbit toy mean? Am I missing something?
I've only been at COW less than one year, I'm still learning all the rules...

Terry Leonard did not take or give Tony the jacket. Tony will tell you that.
Why would it be a big deal for Frank Marshall (if he has anything to do with this in the first place) to go visit Tony? You think the man sits on a golden throne because he's successfull in the movie business? People are people. Maybe he likes Tony and wanted to go say hello. Maybe he had something else to do in the area and killed two birds with one stone. Maybe he wanted to get a taco and he knows about a place near the airport.
Geesh, the stuff that goes through people's minds while trying to uncover "facts" is truely amazing...

The pink bunny is symbolic of taking a deep breath and realizing there are more important and beautiful things out there than getting all worked up over clothing from a movie. While it is our hobby and it's okay to be passionate about it, it's just not worth losing sleep over it.
There is no spoon.

NO! It was 30 years ago! 30 jackets would mean nothing if they were already in the costume making business and did this regularly. Nobody knew or cared about that movie then. Heck, most people still don't care that much - it's just a movie and hundreds of movies are made every year. Thousands of movies.PLATON wrote: Wested on the other hand, even if they lost the original pattern as some people claim, I think Peter could re-create it right, be it with long or short back. They made 14 freaking jackets, wouldn't they remember if they made them with normal (long) or unusual (short) back?
And if they remember so much about them why do people need to give them multiple page sheets telling them how to make the jacket to look like it should?
And if they do have the pattern, lets see a photo of that! Everyone wants to see photos from Nowak, well let's see photos from Wested!

Thanks Agent5.
But couldn't you find a cuter bunny?
That one looks kind of creepy, like it could hold a butcher knife in it's fluffy paws if possessed by the soul of a recently deceased fugitive serial killer...

Kevin, I do not recall _ ever publically posting the specifications/measurements he took from the collection jacket. If he did, it would have been posted at Indyfan.com, as that's when all the project work was going on in the creation of the then Flightsuits Expedition jacket. I just don't have a clear recollection of him doing it, but there were so many emails going back and forth during the project, it's hard to keep it all clear anymore.

Agreed, it's pretty clear that Wested did not keep the patterns nor did they remember the details of the jacket. Although at the time when they were approached, it hadn't been 30 years, but long enough to not have the information on hand. While you would think that they would keep something like that on file, just in case there was a sequel, it would seem that they didn't.Raider S wrote:NO! It seems that the bottom line is THIS, we just don't know. So pick a jacket you like and let that be that

PLATON wrote:That could be right, if there wasn't one little detail in the way.Platon raises a good point though, and if all the jackets were made to the same size, the 'Hero' Tony viewed would have measurments matching what
_ measured, give or take a bit for shrinkage/stretchage(!) over the years.
Were those measurments ever posted or made public here?
The G&B jacket (result of _ measurements), the Todd (same) and the Wested all have the back longer than the front.
In TN's jacket, back length = front length. And if TN had the real "jacket that matters" then this equals to TN calling the walking hulk a liar, because if all the jackets were made to be the same, and the jacket the walking hulk measured has long back, then someone is not telling us his story right.

Pattern making has some mechanics and rules. One of those rules is that ALL jackets have longer back than front.
Look at all jackets that you can find and you will confirm that.
Maybe 1 in a million don't, but don't you think that if Peter used this peculiar, unusual design of back = front he would have remembered it?
Actually, Peter denied that the leather had anything to do with what TN used and even gave names of the people who supplied the leather.
All the above is one more question mark as to whether the jacket TN used was the real thing.
You’re talking as if Peter and his associates are/were a machine. If Wested/Leather Concessionaires has been anything over the years, it’s been that they’re very “loose” in adherence to patterns. The G&B/Terry Leonard jacket is only slightly longer in the back. It definitely looks like it is of the same lineage as the TN Indy 1. The differential between the back and the front on the Expo is not as great as the Crystal Skull jacket for instance.
I also have to ask why would Peter remember a detail like the front/back differential 20 years down the line, or even 1 year down the line for that matter?
As far as the Pedigree of the TN Indy 1 jacket is concerned, who cares? Buy it or don’t buy it. Do you really need a picture of the affair or a letter from Lucasfilm documenting what it is. It just seems strange to me that someone would need those things to enjoy a jacket. I mean, you’re not buying a screen used jacket from Tony anyway, you’re buying a replica.
If you don’t believe your eyes don’t buy one. Tony has provided as much “evidence” as I need. The evidence is the jacket that is the end result.

Maybe I'm missing something here, but, even though all jackets were made to be the same, they weren't the same. There were noticiable differences in them (wasn't it stated that the third order be more like the prototype because of the differences in the second order? These jackets were having to be churned out quickly for the production so there were several inconsistencies among them.
Plus, and this isn't an attack on Peter because I'm also of the mindframe that it was another job at the time and nothing to remember specifics on, isn't the first jacket he created for Lee Keppler referred to as a "bell-hop" jacket" because it was so short. Again, nothing against Peter because of the above stated reasons, but this seems to indicate that he didn't remember jacket length.

After consideration discussion and consideration, it's time to ring down the curtain on this one. It's gone from the original discussion to one of who made what when for whom, so it's serving nothing regarding the original intent of the posting....so, as mmaorsy would say...'move along....nothing more to see here....'
