New Tim Bass nylon whip!

New Tim Bass nylon whip!
Tim came through for me! I got my new 6 foot whip on Tuesday and I've been playing with it so much that I've got a huge knot in my shoulder.
Some pictures:
I think it looks gorgeous, and now that I have it, I can't believe it took me this long to finally get a whip for myself!
I've got the Mark Allen video, and I'm well along in learning the 4 basics. I've got the circus crack pretty well down, and I'm about 50% on the sidearm crack. I've gotten the other two to crack (the forward throw and the overhead crack), but with much less consistency.
I'm ordering Paul Stenhouse's DVD now, for another perspective and because I've seen you all rave about it.
This is so much fun it's ridiculous.

That's a sweet looking nylon! I'd actually like to see more of Tim's work but when I go to his website I get a "page cannot be displayed" error. Is his site down temporarily?

His website crashed back in about April and he pretty much lost all the images and text that he'd generated. He has't gotten around to putting it back up yet, and he was pretty vague in terms of when he might get around to it.
He's going to have surgery on a bad shoulder, so I half suspect that he's not putting the site back up because he doesn't want to get too loaded with orders at the moment. That is just my opinion, of course, so take it as you will.

You're right ITG, it's a 6 footer. I was originally going to get an 8 footer, but changed my mind and just spaced when I was typing the above.
The handle is about 1 inch diameter, and the whole thing weighs something close to 1 pound - I haven't weighed it and I'm a horrible judge of weight.
I believe it was $110 for the 6 footer, and closer to $140 for the 8 footer.

At Indydawg's last Spring, whipwarrior saw mine laying on the couch and thought it was leather. From a short distance, it' hard to tell unless you are looking closely. My Tim Bass 8 footer cost a total of $140 and that included shipping as well as an additional modification---I wanted the loop added for that Indy look.Indiana Texas-girl wrote:What does he charge for his 8 footers? The picture kinda looks more like a 6 footer. Is this a pretty thick whip?
It's easy to crack. I taught my 5' 4" 12-yr old how to crack this 8 footer and he has no problem with sidearm, horizontal, reverse sidearm, circus, etc. Although he's still working on his underhand crack. My point is that a smaller person who's never cracked a whip can pick up one of Tim's 8 foot nylons and start cracking right away.
