What I personally am interested in exploring is trying to compare and contrast the different jackets from the different vendors in the actual way they fit and hang on the body. NOT just which ones "look" most SA, but how they actually fit and hang. What's interesting to me is there have been actual stuntmen jackets vendors have used in creating the patterns for their jackets. But I haven't read any or I've overlooked the reviews of these other jackets about how they fit or hang off the shoulders. What fascinates me is exploring what that actually means. First of all, do any of the other vendor jackets other than TN fall off the shoulders? If not, how can that be if some of these patterns are screen used jackets? Is it because the stuntmen's jackets weren't constructed this way on purpose for some reason? Was there only one jacket, TN's, that was constructed with that particular construction fit property? Or have all the vendors modified the patterns to correct this "fit flaw"? I wanted to explore these types of questions to try and figure out what really makes TN's jacket "fit" so uniquely. Patterns, abilities, etc.

...............
NB I'm not sure other vendors actually had a jacket, stunt or otherwise to create their patterns. They had precise measurements provided by _, who was able to examine closely a stuntman's jacket.
Very good patterns were made but I suspect the poor construction/design that makes the original 'fall off' the shoulder wasn't incorporated or known about. A jacket maker will want to make a jacket in a correct way, and that means staying in place on the shoulder. I think that's why we don't see that effect from other vendor's jackets.

I don't think stuntmen's jackets would be all that different looking from the hero jacket. They may have had provision for padding, size, etc but why would they be made to look different?

As far as the I-J movie jackets go I don't think it was just the one TN copied that does that, unless that jacket was used in many more scenes than we know.

Just picked mine up from the post office, after paying a hefty price for duty.. very very nice.. looks fantastic right out of the bag, and the pockets and collar are already showing some distressing just from shipment in a plastic ziploc lol. two things I didn't realize til just now, the ROLA comes with two inside pockets, the left one has a zipper, and the side flaps point forward.. minor details that don't affect how I feel about it.. The shoulders are a bit tight, esp at the armpits.. hopefully those stretch out a bit..

What size did you get and what are your measurements? Peter told me yesterday that the 80s cut is not smaller in the arms or shoulders than the full cut. He said that the 80s is tapered and smaller in the stomach area. See, this makes me skeptical getting the 80s. Can you post a pic?

The armpits won't stretch. If you look at the thread "My first ..." that's now a few pages long we were discussing the same thing with someone else's jacket.
