Aldens Heel Replacement

Post by rbinko2001 »

How do you know when its time to get the heel on your Aldens replaced? I use them almost daily walking at my university which proved to cause quite the wear on the heels. The back edge of the rubber heel is almost worn down to the first wooden shim. Im not sure when to get them fixed.
Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks.

I get my heels replaced just before the shims are exposed.

Yeah, what he said. I just sent a pair back for refurbishing and they had them back to me in 3 weeks.

You can also buy a pair of heels directly from Alden for about $16 a set, and give them to your local shoe repair shop for replacement. That's what I do. I bought two sets when I sent my boots back for refurbishment, and I've since had them re-heeled locally for about $8.00. Good deal, and a very minimal wait time (about 2 days).
