Todd's Standard or Wested Special Offer ROLA Soft Goat?

Post by Nos402 »

Subject says it all! I was really planning on getting a Todd's Standard (my roommate has one so I've worn it in person) but I'm wondering what you guys think of the Wested Special Offer ROLA Soft Goat by comparison since at the current exchange rate, it's only a little bit more than the Todd's.

I'm interested in comparisons of both Screen Accuracy and Overall quality! I want an OTR jacket at the under $200 range.

Nice pic of the doctor....why not get one of Westeds Who Jackets?

If not....and NO OFFENCE to Todds...but a Wested is a great investment!

Todds is great for all your other gear needs

Heh, don't get me started on my LONG saga in my Doctor Who jacket quest. I've owned 2 Westeds, 2 Magnolis and am currently working with Magnoli on what i hope turns out to be my ultimate Doctor Who jacket.

I bought a Leather Pea Coat here in Australia 3 years ago, not SA, but really close. @#$% Leather, but has aged well, and should get more wear than it does.

I like westeds Das Boot model a lot.....however do let me know how your search goes.

Back to the topic

I cannot comment as well as others so I'll let you get back on track, thinking of going a CS in Novapelle at the moment

After more research I'm now torn between the Todd's Standard and the Wested Special Offer Soft Goat (I've edited my original post to reflect this).

On the one hand, many here seem to have first hand experience with the Todd's Standard being much more durable than it seems. On the other hand, for slightly more I could have the soft goat from Wested which I'm assuming would be more sturdy and more water resistant. The Todd's seems to be lauded as more SA and I am wary of the hit and miss quality that seems to be most people's experience with Wested (including my own).

If you like your friends Todd, then go for it. Works well for a lot of people especially those in warm areas. I think the Todd is too thin, and the arms cut too tight in the wrist. On me they fit a bit like the original Star Trek uniform sleeves...

This is the first batch of soft goat, the colour in this shot looks too light, usually it looks just like all other authentic browns. Obviously this one is WAY too long for me.

That's what I love about the Star Trek TOS uniforms, the "just too short" sleeves and highwater pants.

I say, if you like the Todd's get one. Cheaper. :whip:
