TN Indy 1 Pocket Flaps

Post by CM »

I think one of the nicest things about this jacket is the shape and width of the pocket flaps. You'll notice that they are a bit wider than the actual pocket (seen on screen too) and the shape is elegant, not just scalloped but with a specific shape (no one else has done) that I think nails the look.

Any TN owner size 40 to 42 able to tell us what the flap measures how wide and how deep and compare that to the pocket width?

I keep being amazed by what we have seen on this site since I first started reading about Indy jackets some years ago. What a great series of choices there are for us today!

Truth be told, his pocket flaps are unbeatable.

CM the pocket on a size 40 TN measures 6.5"W x 8"H.
The flap measures 7"W
The height of the flap at the deepest point (between top of flap and the point of the scallop is 3").
The height of the flap either side of the scallop is 2.25"

Generally, they look good to me. But from some of the pics I´ve seen here, I got the impression the central, popper-covering curve of the flap was sometimes a little too sharp and pointy when compared to the ones on screen. Kind of like one of these } facing down, but not as extreme. I suspect it may be a trick of the light/perspective though.

Raider S those are perfect pocket flaps! (At least I think so anyway.) I hope my jacket has pocket flaps like that, if I ever get to have one.
Can someone please tell the economy to hurry up and be done being dramatic so I start selling more houses again? :)

I'd say that's along the edge to the start of the radius on the corner. After the radius the flap increases to 2.5"

Sounding far too cliched and fanboyish, I'm sure, but the devil's certainly in all the little details on these jackets.

I know... I'm not a total SA guy, but those pockets have let down so many of the other makers over the years - to me far more so than zips, or collars... Now at last the final standard has been set. :notworthy: Oh &%$#@ I am a fanboy... :Plymouth:
