My Steve Delk Adveturebuilt Crystal Skull Fedora!

Post by Englandiana Jones »

Hi All,

Just joined the board and thought I'd make a start and say howdy! I ordered my AB from Steve a week before the release of The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and received it about 4 months ago...what can I say she's a beauty! Thought I'd share with you my first Indy lid!

Anyone else out there got one, or just Crystal Skull reblocks?

Here's some shots anyway I took on the day it arrived, lid on Steve's packaging! Let me know what you think Obi Waners!

Cheers dude! Nice to have some feedback :-)

I've put together a bag too, from an original WWII gas mask bag and a Todd's strap, will post that up soon...Got the belt, whip holder and webbing belt whilst I was at it. Need to get to Wested soon for pants and a shirt, when I have some spare dosh!

I must get up into my loft too, as I have a original WW1 officers belt with holster (very much like Raiders) and a whip I got back in the 90s. Cant remember where from now, my Dad researched for a year to get one for me for a trip to Egypt when i was a kid. I'll get some pics when I can. Would be great for you guys to give me some help researching it!

Welcome aboard, Englandiana! :) That's a fine looking AB. If you're interested in seeing some pics of some others' ABs, check out a thread in the Fedora section called "Post your Adventurebilts". I myself got a new Crystal Skull AB last summer before going on a dig, and there are some pics if you follow this link:

Enjoy the forum!

best wishes,

Yes, I concur with Lady Canyon. Fedora awesomeness. You are one LUCKY guy! A lot of us who ordered our lids back in 2007 still have yet to see them, and you already received yours. Is there a 'green with envy' emoticon here? Ah, yes. That pretty much sums it up.

Thankyou for the lovely welcome and all you comments guys!

Crikey! Some of you guys have been waiting a long time!! No inside help or anything I'm afraid no. Basically when I ordered it I asked Steve for a rough time scale and then when it didn't come then, I just kept reminding Steve via email every couple of weeks. He's a really nice guy, but in his own admission he said he is a little forgettful. My advice to those of you who have been waiting a very long time is to email him you original Pay Pal order number, or credit card details so he can look you up and move you up his work list! ;)

I actually haven't taken a picture of me in the fedora yet, kind of wanted to wait until I had a nice Wested shirt to go underneath it....But I'll think about taking one before then

P.s Glad you like the name, I thought it was good fun! How many brits have we got here?

Keep in mind, our new friend here ordered his before the tsunami of post CS orders hit Steve, so that's how he got his so 'quickly'. Remember, no one KNEW Steve and Marc had MADE the hats for the film until AFTER it came out, so Englandiana was quite literally in the right place at the right time with a head/hat block size Steve was working in at the time.

VERY nice, and welcome! :M:

HIGH regards! Michaelson

I don't think thats the case. There are folks here that ordered way before then and still haven't received their ABs. I orderd in March of last year and many before me still haven't received their hats. I think it all boils down to your hat size and shape. Maybe Steve could simply jump to his order becuase there weren't many in his size and shape. I know I have a common size and shape, 23 1/4'' regular oval, so I'll be waiting for a bit longer. I don't know what I'm going to do with myself once I have the hat and no longer have to wait. Its like the wait and I are old buddies now, I may have to order a second one just for the wait...not to mention the awesomeness (I know its not a word) of the hat. ;)

You have to remember that when the movie hit and he got hit with all the Movie influx it does effect the orders placed before it. He still has to deal with the incoming orders. Thats less time for making hats.

That's pretty much what Michaelson was trying to say, Dave.

Its past 11:00am and I haven't had my first! If I don't get some coffee in me quick, I fear my students will feel the wrath of DR Ulloa, and thats not good. Thats why they've got busy work today ;) . I'm not a fan of it, but I am in no mood to teach.

That's exactly what I was saying, and from another thread, Steve confirms:

I have noticed some guys recieved their hats way before others. Part of this is due to me skipping forward to find an order that the block is open on, and the other part is I "used" to move up an order if the hat was needed for an exotic trip, or special occassion gift. If you got it for any other reason, it was a mistake. On my part. I do make em. Thanks!!!!
Once I work down to May 08 orders, things will really speed up on lead times. Most of the hats were ordered prior to my price increase. I look forward to short lead times. As my customers do! Fedora
