Wested LC Novapelle Custom (& other stuff) arrived!

Post by BazzanoJones »

Here's the gallery of my new Wested LC jacket, pants & shirt: CLICK HERE FOR THE GALLERY! :D

I'm very happy about the contruction of this pieces and the materials but the jacket sleeves and back plate are 1" shorter than I've specified in my order...not a big problem, but I'd like to have a little more lenght. :-k

Anyway I'm 95% satisfied about this order: very good work Peter! \:D/

Jeez that is a nice jacket. The Novapelle looks great in the close-ups, and the whole thing looks so well put together.
One inch off the sleeves might be a worry though; they're not going to get any longer...

I'd send the jacket back. You paid for a custom, right? Than the specs should be as you ordered. You'll end up not liking it as the years pass... Trust me. If there is something bothering you now, it'll be worse later!

Yeah, I understand perfectly what you say Coronado3, and you're right.
I would send back to Wested if it doesn't fit...but the jacket fit me perfectly! So I'm not sure if send it back (and pay shpping, worry about all work fine, etc.) only for a little inch difference. :-k

BazzanoJones this is great looking LC Jacket! Just on thing.. the snap fastener on the top of the jacket seems to be placed on a different height as the press stud on the stormflap? How does it look when you close the snap on the top? ok you won't ever close it anyway...

Really nice jacket you have there! The novapelle hide looks really nice. Peter did a nice job one your jacket! If you are concerned about length, I would maybe send it back to be adjusted since it is a custom jacket. All in all though, very nice :)

one inch is a big difference, especially in sleeve length. If you aren't happy send it back

Yeah - an almost perfect jacket you've go there! Having said that, I'd make them fix the sleeves and push for free postage. It'stheir mistake with sleeve length and they WILL get shorter with wear.

It's almost like all the tape measures at Wested have shrunk lately! So many mis-measurements. ](*,)

Bazzano,

How about a shot of you wearing the jacket, arms relaxed at your sides to see of you actually need any extra length in the sleeves. Novapelle wrinkles a little but doesn't 'set' that firm. I doesn't ride up all that much.

I wouldn't add an inch hoping they'll mis-measure

Send it back, that bugger'll shrivel up like a dried prune once you've sweat in it a few times. Well, I'm exaggerating, but the creasing in the sleeves along with sweating can cause notable shrinkage with time.

Another Wested work of art. Novapelle is the best thing since sliced bread. The double row of stiches on the shoulder give it away as a CS jacket rather than an LC. But nobody else will notice besides the ultra-obsessed stitch nazis around this place. Enjoy it, and have many happy adventures!

I think it looks good all over. The sleeves don't bother me and I have never in over 30 jackets had them ride up.

Anway, Wested's LC is also a CS. Peter has decided to combine the two so the double stitching is usually present on an LC if you order one. However the pockets for the fim LC are very square with a massive flap which comes half way down the pocket.

Nice jacket, nice leather.

Thanks for all your opinions, guys! ;)
Here's two (horrible and dark) pics with me wearing the jacket with arms relaxed.

Due to a prospective effect seem that my right sleeve it's shorter than the left one, but I've measured it and both are 23".
Ok, evidently I'm on the way to became Hunchback of Notre Dame's twin... :-

As I said in my second post I think the jacket fit me very well although the missed inch in sleeves and body.

I think the jacket is perfect for you. Besides Indy also had the sleeves ride up all the time.

well first.

you seem to be wearing you pants a little high, that may give the effect of the jacket being at perfect length in photos when it maby isnt if you drop your pants to wasit/beltline.

second, the sleeves look good, but I would let them add another inch to them. the sleeves on the LC was long and somewhat baggy.

The sleeves dont look short at all and the measurement was checked, I have it ticked on my order sheet.
That apart less me say that on Navapelle jackets the sleeves actually stretch because of the natural softness of the leather. I have the same jacket and after 1 month had to have the sleeves shortened by 1" because of stretch.
That's a first for me
Cheers

The sleeves on my Novapelle LC wrinkled, and lost about half an inch.
I was grateful for this; they were a tad long at first.
Any other novapelle owners have sleeves that have actually lengthened?

First of all, I don't want to send back my jacket: I'm very happy with it and construction, materials and fit are spot on.
And I'm also sure you've checked the measures I've wrote to you with your tipical professionality and skill. ;)

But if I measure from the center of the shoulder seam straight along to the end of the sleeve the measure is 23" and not 24" as I request. I don't know why...probably I measure it in the wrong way. :-k

I just checked out the gallery pics, and when worn, the back doesn't look too short at all. The sleeves may look a very little bit short, but if they stretch like Peter says they will, then I think the entire jacket will look perfect...

Nope, and I've had mine for almost a year. But stretchy sleeves will only enhance the LC/CS screen-accuracy because Indy's jacket sleeves look extra long and baggy in both films. Notice how the barrel cuffs practically devour his hand down to the top knuckles, and sometimes lower. Trust me, it should be fine.

It doesn't look so bad. The sleeves might be a tad short but it could be perspective too.

If YOU are happy with the fit is all that matters.

looking more at the photos, I think the sleeves are all right, the body seems proportionately a bit short to me soley based on the photos you provided, but then again the tony nowak jacket I with harrison ford specs also looked short in the torso, but I guess this one's a CS
