help in u s wings jacket sizing

Post by damian della morte »

i am looking to order a u s wings raiders jacket so does anyone have a wings and a wested, or wings and a coyles, or a wings and a G & B, so i you directly compare the sizes, i dont know whether to order a L or XL, if a they make the jackets in sizes numbers im always good, wested 44r fits perfect G & B 44r is perfect, etc. but with coyles for example the L is a little tight and XL is a bit to large, if anyone has any of the above + a u s wings you can directly compare your sizes and be sure [-o<

Damian, if you do a little search, you'll find plenty of posts and threads on US Wings sizing. In short, the best way to know is to contact Wings directly and ask them what their jacket measurements are.

Just as an example...I wear a G&B size 44R/44T.

I have found that Wings 'L' fits me fine.

I sure will, but it will have to be this evening. It's at the house, and I'm still at work, unless someone else is close to theirs and can do it first. Stay tuned.

i called u s wings yesterday and asked lisa to measure the sleeve length of one of their indy jackets, most of my indy jackets (11) most are 44r, have a sleeve of 25" (give or take 1/2") USW gave me a measurement of 26" for L, when i add Michaelson's comparison to the mix, this tends to make me suspect the XL will fit me like a circus tent ???

Most of my size 46 jackets TN and Wested have been ordered with 26 in sleeves....so I might be able to slide right in..........

even 26" on the back may be a bit on the long side for a raiders in 44r, of course there where many jackets in raiders and it dosnt have to be perfectly screen acurate to look good

You will not get a Raiders length from US Wings unless you are a mutant. But still, great jackets. They are cut roomy, especially compared to a Wested. I have a Wested size 50 regular and just fits me. I'm just barely a size 50, actually more like a 49. The Wings XXL could fit a size 50 or 52 well. If I wanted a snug "80's fit" I could probably squeeze into a Wings XL.

Wings are a little on the roomy side. I usually get a 50 which translates to a XXL in Wings' sizes. I had a CE in XXL and it fit me so well I used it as the basis for my Nowak CS jacket (I'm lucky that I fit well into OTR sizes though).

Ok, fair enough, I'm sure you're a bigger framed guy than myself with a size 50 jacket.

I can appreciate that some people don't like the fact that Wings makes such a roomy jacket because, after all, that's not what Indy wore. But as a guy who struggles and often has to overpay for clothing, it's nice to find a nice, reasonably priced jacket that I can wear a sweater under without looking like an over-stuffed burrito!

good to see some pics, i think i saw them on another thread also, the jacket suits you fine, the sleeves are a nice length, shoulders look good, it is a bit long if your going screen acurate, but it looks like a very well made jacket and again looks like it suits you well ;) the more i look into it the more i start to prefer uswings and G&B as my personal favs, although i must admit the chiose is not an easy one :-

I've got a Wings XXL and I a 46L fits me perfectly. I had tried a XL, but it was too dog gone tight in the body and barely ok in the sleeves.

Are you sure about those sizes? Because a xxl should be huge on a 46.

I don't think it will shrink enough for you, and you'll end up with a jacket that's harder to sell.
