New whip Indy stile (blueriversaddles)

Post by Gaucho »

My friends

I see this whip in http://www.blueriversaddles.com/shop/item.aspx.

This is a nice whip, in pics. The 8 foot is: $161.95, and 10 foot is $173.95.

I've looked at this company's whips being offered on ebay. I can't remember if they said anything about the construction. What is in the core? Do they have any plaited bellies and bolsters? Most of the time if a whipmaker doesn't say anything about a belly or two, then the whip doesn't have any. Are you thinking about getting one, or merely pointing out that they are offering an Indy version?

Happy cracking, :whip:

I can't say if this whip is any good at all or not, and like Ryan said, we don't know what kind of core it has or if it has any plaited bellies or not(I would assume that it does not). But I do think it looks very interesting in that it is braided backwards from the point starting in 4 plait and the strands are then split into 3 making it 12 plait, hence why the strands get so jumbled and bunched towards the middle of the thong. If anyone picks one up, I'd be interested to see more pictures and/or video of the whip.

I can't say anything about the quality of these either as there are a lot of variable that go into making a whip perform right, like the internal construction. Just by looking at it though, I have seen worse. The shape actually looks good but I don’t like the lack of a taper after the plaiting goes into that 4 plait pattern. Those long even sections of whip just add length and really do not lend itself well to performance ability.
