Beloved jacket back from repair (update)

Post by Weston »

I sent my much loved Wested lambskin Raider's jacket off to England for a new lining today. Most of you probably know by now that I am by no means jacket poor; but that does not mean that the absence of my first true Indy jacket is not significant. Not only was this the first real Indy jacket made for me by an original maker, but it was the jacket I wore almost daily while courting the lovely woman who eventually agreed to marry me. It is very much a part of the family. When it comes back, I'll be sure to post some pics.

I know how you feel, my wested is in for repairs as well but here in the states, the pockets are getting reenforced because they started to pull apart, I use mine daily as well and stuff alot of junk in them, so just need a little fixing. I'm having my local tailor look over the jacket for any loose seems or what ever just in case. Hope you get your jacket back in a hurry. Good luck :)

Beloved jacket back from repair (update)

I recieved a nice big package from Parcel Force today! Yes, the jacket came back, and it's better than ever!

I sent this off in November, with mixed feelings about letting it go, but the job had to be done and I wanted Wested to do it. It took a while to get back due to a confluence of circumstance, from e-mail problems to my bank account being hijacked by perps. They actually had it done some time ago, and they were just waiting for me to pay so they could send it. They shipped it the day they recieved my payment, and I got it 1 week later.

They did an excellent job! They not only replaced the lining with a very nice polished cotton, but installed a leather collar stand, repaired the cuffs, cleaned and oiled it. Outstanding!

Thanks to everyone at Wested for the superb service!

It's about 12 years old. I'm looking for a recent thread that asked for pics of vintage Westeds. When I find it, I'll post a couple more pics of it.

Well, I can't seem to find that other thread, probably because it's hiding in plain sight, so here are a couple more picks of my refurbished jacket.

Better than when it was new!
