A 8ft bullwhip I'm very proud of (made by me)
I finished my 11th bullwhip last week. It is the first bullwhip which I'm going to keep for myself since I'm quit satisfied how it looks and acts. It was also a real joy to make it. ANd it really has the "Indy-feel" I wanted
I did my very best to make some nice pictures, but this one is the best so far. I'll try to post some more details later. I'm looking forward to see your comments

That's a nice whip - I've tried it out and it cracks effortlessly.
I'm so pleased to see IndyBreineder produce a proper Indy bullwhip after mostly making snake whips. Some of you may remember that he and I actually made our first whips together during a weekend at my in-laws', some years ago. There was a lot of trial an error involved at that point!! Since then, Dan hasn't put quite as much time into whipmaking as I did - he was busy enough with his other wonderful leather goods. He's made up for lost time recently though and this latest whip shows that he'll soon be putting out terrific Indy whips.
Come on Dan, no slacking - where's teh next one

I just made some more pictures. Unfortunaly I don't get the actual collour of the whip, so the pictures apear slightly too yellow:
handle
knots
butt knot
serial number (the number "11" can't be seen very good here)
Thank you for your kind comments! I really like it myself, though there are still some little improvements to make.
On my homepage you can find a whip section with some info on whips and previous whips I made:
http://www.lederhandwerk.net/index.php? ... &Itemid=19
and yes, sometimes I even sell them aswell
I haven't manage to set up my homepage bilingual yet, so you have to let speak the pictures for themself

I used Ron Edwards book "how to make whips" to get started, along with some really helpful tips about Indy whip making by Nick "Pagey", I also had "braiding fine leather" by David Morgan.McFly wrote:Wow! That's great! Keep up the good work, Breindeer!
What did you use to learn? The David Morgan books?
Shane
But the main thing was that I could watch Nick getting on with his whips, seeing the development of many of his craft and also listened to the hints he recived from fellow whipmakers all over the world.
but beeing a scout saved some time in learning knots of course
