Back pleats

Post by matt black »

:whip: I have just recieved my jacket from wested. Its the LC in novapeli.Has anyone else had the problem of the back pleats sticking out too far ie.looking a bit hunch back like? Is this maybe a problem with a new jacket before it has worn in.Any help would be great.

Sometimes, people have the side straps sinched a bit too tight causing the pleats to gape a bit perhaps try loosening them a bit.

Sometimes it's due to your particular body shape. Turning to look at it in the mirror will sometimes cause the pleat to open, as of course, that was the intention in the first place!

Mine right pleat flares out a bit on my OTR Lambskin Raiders but it's bad looking, only that the left doesn't.... I will let it go though

All Indy jackets look strange when you stare at them for a while. Pleats... pocket flaps... collars...

Forget it. Enjoy. No one else in the real world cares.

The jacket will settle eventually, as the others have said.

I have two westeds, one i weathered and one i did'nt. I wear the weathered one the most. when i first got it the pleats stuck out a mile and i toyed with sending it back. The other day i was walking by a shop window and noticed the pleats no longer stuck out, just give it time bro and am almost certain it will settle down. Just wear around the house every now and again getting extra movement into it. I dont even hang up my weathered jacket i just ball it up and throw it on the floor and over time it gets more and more like the real thing

Exactly!!! My girlfriend and Mother are always asking why I don't hang up $550 dollars worth of jackets and just leave them on the floor for people to step on them. Go ahead, I say step on them!!! Hangers will affect the drape and shoulder area in a bad way.

My hanger did not affect anything but the disgraceful pleats...

Regards,

Nico

Ps: Yep, it s good to be concious that no one in the street notice that your jacket has "something wrong". Normal people do not care about screen accuracy. To tell the truth they do not even notice that you are wearing a movie replica... Relax
