I've only had washed goat, but doesn't the regular goat from Wested come in either dark brown or authentic brown?

I believe it is authentic brown only now...

I am thinking of getting a ROTLA spec. jacket and they are available in washed or soft goat hides.... I just can't decide which one to get :-k

That's a shame then. I think dark brown goat would be fantastic.
Many have said, and I agree, that the washed goat is perfect for a TOD jacket. Regular goat, authentic brown or otherwise, with a bit of shine, would be good for Raiders.

IMHO, avoid the washed got: obvoiusly non-SA (even more so than in pics), prone to scuffing, seems lighter than the standard goat. Kinda looks & feels like it has been very lightly dusted with Fuller's Earth. I just don't like it. I know: I owned one VERY briefly.

Yeah, I'm not keen on what I've seen and heard about it.

I love my washed goat LC. In my opinion, it is one of the better hides to come out of Wested in a long time. I love the matte, "worn" look right out-of-the-box. Yeah, it scuffs...but it's very durable and any scuff mark is easily erased w/Pecards....but it also adds to the character of the jacket. I just love the whole look of the jacket.

I have an otr goat in authentic brown and it looks great, it's one tuff leather and it holds up and still lokks pretty new considering I've worn it pretty much everyday since it has gotten cold. I would recommend it. Good luck

KT or Peter... Could you take a photo side by side of the washed and regular goats please?

In an earlier thread, whiskeyman showed them side by side, but I think the washed goat has changed slightly with newer batches...

I'd like to see one of the ToD's in regular or authentic brown Goat. Hopefully someone gets one soon to post photos.

So, the "Special Offer Raiders ROLA Soft Goatskin" comes in just 'Authentic' brown' right now? How much lighter is that color in direct sunlight compared to the dark brown?

I've never owned an Indy jacket in 'Authentic' brown' before and I was thinking about ordering one. :-k

Authentic Goat, left; Dark Brown Lamb, Right. That's regular goat, not washed goat, and, sorry, not TOD either.

weaker as in it feels like a wind breaker! i dont think it would last that long for a person who wears jackets hard! 8) i am tough on jackets so i went with a thicker hide then washed goat. I had it for a week and i didnt like it. its nice to look at but not my type of leather.. just my opinion gents.. not meaning to offend anyone
