Wested Novapelle delay...

Post by BazzanoJones »

Dicember 24 I've ordered my first Indy jacket, a Wested custom LC in Novapelle.
From that date to now I've wrote three or four times to Gemma asking the order status and the estimated time of shipping.
The answer was always the same "Your jacket will be cut in the next 10 working days"...always ten days, even after ten days was passed!

Answering my last mail (January 27) Gemma write me this news:
"Your jacket will be cut in the next 10 working days, we have been currently awaiting on the novapelle leather"...

Anyone had ordered a custom Novapelle jacket in December and still waiting for it? :-k

Sorry to hear about the delay. There must some sort of leather shortage going on at Wested, particularly the washed goat and now Novapelle. I bought a LC Novapelle early last year and it's one of my favorites! Trust me, it's worth the wait.

The drop in the value of the pound v the dollar has caused a spike in orders, that coupled with the ToD jacket release has meant a lot of leather being used.

Bear with them, more leather must surely have been ordered to cope.

This is the jacket luck I've had lately. I got my ToD in goat before the shortage hit and I've got a LC in Novapelle ordered as well. Oh well, it will be a nice surprise when it gets here.

Well it must be a VERY recent shortage as I've previously been offers it in place of the goat. Speak to Peter, you may get to the bottom of it. Gemma told me my jacket would be ready the week after Christmas.

I guess I'll just hunker down and wait, I'm looking forward to the lighter novapelle.

I have no advice or suggestions to offer on Wested's delay, but I can offer a bit of support to PSBIndy's comment about Novapelle. I have a custom Raiders in Novapelle, and it's easily the most comfortable and best looking leather jacket I've ever owned. Whether or not it's worth the wait is entirely up to you, but it's definitely worth owning.
