Where can I buy replacement Chicago Clips for my bag strap?

Bags, Boots, Shirts and all other gear should be discussed here.

Where can I buy replacement Chicago Clips for my bag strap?

Post by DiCatania »

I am a new member and this is my first posting. Does anyone know where I can buy replacement Chicago Clips for my bag strap. I was out hiking with my family and the clip seperated and I had to tie it off, because I lost one half of the clip. Thank you. :-k

Do you mean the screws? Most any hardware store should carry them, although they might not call them Chicago screws.

Normally a local Ma and Pa sporting goods store will have them. They are used a lot for gun slings and such. And if you are close to Adrian Michigan..you can go to Gilsons Hardware and Sporting Goods and get some! :) :)

If you don't want to LOSE the screw again, use some blue Loc Tite on it.

EDIT - Put the word use instead of lose the first time. But get Loc Tite (blue is the removeable kid) and you will be very happy.

When my strap screw backed out and fell off, I replaced it with a rivet. Looks the same.

Tandy leather, or any other leather supply company will be able to get you any number of replacements. You can also find them on Ebay. You can get them in various sizes so be sure of what you order. They are a very common item in leatherworking and are also referred to as screw posts as well as chicago screws.

Hope this helps! :whip:
