raiders strap isn't 1"

Post by Indiana G »

it's 1.25"......that's my opinion so take it with a grain of salt. either that or my gigantic pecs dwarfs a 1" strap. if you are like my wife and believe the former rather than the latter.....what do you do? no one makes 1.25" raiders straps.........

cept for our own wade eagen!!!! :)

wade was great to work with and will customize his products to your needs. excellent customer service.....after all, he's a gearhead like us ;-)

here's some pics with a magnoli strap/AB buckle and a black CS strap (home made with a KT Templar buckle):

a close up with the mag/AB combo:

i know what you're thinking......SA nazi got his SA wide strap but the buckle is not bang on. wade is still sourcing his SA buckle manufacturer (a cost efficient one) and this was the best that his current vendor can do. i think the buckle pale's in comparison to the quality of the strap. i asked wade to match the waterfall picture and good god did he ever nail it....looks like it has a distressed look as well . the leather he uses is thick, strong but very soft and comfortable. very nice quality of leather imo. it feels like the leather mags uses but considerabley thicker.

as far as the buckle goes.....where am i going to find an SA buckle for a strap this large????

....K on the run (AB) has me covered for that (coming soon!) ;-)

(ps - both my WG mk vii bags do not have an eyelet on the inside pocket.....someone was asking about that.........)

SA Nazi? I think not. What ever makes you happy. Geesh... it's a simple thing and you're pretty happy about it, so it's all good. Plus your new strap looks good too! Congrats. :)

Wade just simply kicks major *^%((...i have not seen quality like this for such reasonable prices and the fact that he bends to our every crazy gearhead demands (i.e. sniffing the leather to make sure it smells like Harrison Ford, how he gets that smell, I don't wanna know  )
Wade, cannot wait for my strap which I am going to outfit with my AB buckle..will definitely post some pics!!!

Let's see a pic of you wearing it, so we can see what it looks like on a person.

If it is 1.25", then I can get correct buckles at very affordable price.

being a hardcore gearhead for only 2 1/2 years....i have yet to master putting the strap on correctly.....i hear you need at least another year to master that skill. i have my class booked with swindiana so i should be getting good in a little while..............

just kidding.....i'm waiting on the AB buckle to come in before restrapping my bag.....i want to see the overall effect at that point ;-)

Sounds like it's time to get a piece of flat stainless steel scrap, a jeweler's saw and some files.

lookee at the middle pic. i stole this pic from holt in the leather jacket section....ha ha ha ha ha ha!!!!!

now that does not look like a 1" strap unless that is river pheonix and not ford......i chose to believe that the strap was thicker...at least in that scene.

once i get my beefy AB buckle, i'll post some pics.

do not bother to contest this as i am right, like i am with everything.....now there will be massive returns of 1" straps to mags, todds, wade.....they're going to hire a hitman to silence me......it's not 1" i say, not 1"!!!!!!!!!

But that strap in the middle also looks bigger than other pics I've seen. The strap in this photo looks comparatively more narrow than the strap in the middle photo above:

Perhaps we are dealing with multiple strap sizes, which isn't a stretch considering the varied hat bashes and jacket sizes used in the same movie.

right on maboot. i believe the SOC strap is of the 1" variety. most of the scenes where i am second guessing the size of the strap are scenes where he is wearing his tony nowak jacket....er....i mean leather jacket ( :P ....that's for KT.... ). i can see a thicker strap in that pic where indy is holding a torch in the WOS, the promo shot of indy and marion where his jacket is zipped up at the bottom....i'm sure there is more........

besides, a thicker strap is more comfy to wear.

Throw in the grooved/ungrooved debate, and you're in it up to your eyebrows.

I thought my supplier has more options on the 1.25" buckles for bag strap, but I guess had a wrong impression on that. Any way, I picked up a few samples that are quite nice and can be the alternatives.
