Tony Nowak got my goat #109

Post by Han Jones »

I got my first Raiders jacket from Tony and I really like it. This is his first goatskin Raiders jacket. I did not get it distressed as the hide has so many shade already. It has begun the distress on its own. I still need to find a better light for picures. Like all of Tony's jackets this one has some heart. It is dark in person. I would describe its color as dark chocolate.

Very nice! I can't wait to see more pics. I really like the lettering work on the inside particularly the "Raiders" done logo-style.

Yeah, definitely get some more pictures up. I'd love to see some more of this jacket. How does the goat compare to other goat hides you've had?

I would say that this hide feels more smooth than other goats I have had. It is hard to tell the shade variations from the pics but it is those variations that set it apart from other hides. It looks alive.

Looks awesome! How heavy/light is it? How does it compare to goat hides from other vendors? In my opinion, this looks more "Raiders" to me than the shrunken lamb.

I do see some graining in the photo, but not much pebbling as some Goat has. I suspect the photo makes it look more smooth than it really is as well as the colour off from how you describe it.

I see a number of people on their second, third and probably higher TN Raiders jackets. Is anyone starting to think that he might actually sell all 888? I'm not saying that this will happen in the immediate future but eventually...

I've been waiting for a goat skin jacket to be offered but I'd want one much darker than I'm seeing. Also, is the price in the $700 range?

The photo is taken under direct sunlight so it's going to be lighter than it would "normally" appear. That said, I can still see it tends to favor the brown rather than the black. He really needs to get more photos of this up for us.

I imagine that this jacket will darken as time goes by. Unlike other goats this hide seems to be breaking in fast and it feels light but warm. I did get interfacing but that doesn't seem to effect the zipper wave.

I'm astonished by how much it looks like my G&B. I guess they are both based upon screen used jackets. ;-) Lovely job by Tony.

I love the look of your jacket. I really like how the color leans more toward the brown than the black. I think if it were about a shade darker it would be perfect (not to say that it isn't perfect now). But I think it will darken with age.

Way nice jacket, enjoy!

Sorry RC what do you mean King believes? I know exactly what the claims are for both jackets and have read every post. I never said I believed or didn't believe anyone's story. Don't get your point there, RC.

My point is that the G&B looks almost identical to Tony's goat.

Cheers

That's basically my point.
I don't think there should be a surprise in similarity of the G+B since the G+B was based on an actual Raiders stunt jacket. The jacket TN copied was also a screen used Raiders jacket. I think we are on the same page?
Chris now believes as well, and that I think is huge.

The jacket is shorter in the back only in length :) The jacket wears off the shoulders, so although conceptually it's shorter, it's worn lower on the back so the bottom of the jacket is lower. Yeah?

Got ya. Cool. I guess at the back of my mind was the idea that the G&B is even better than I thought beacuse it looks so much like a Nowak hero copy. Who says the stunt jackets are lesser things! ;-)

Han, this really is a super jacket. While I realize that the original "dino' hide isn't for everyone, I've always liked it and think it gets better with age. Your jacket is the only thing that's made me have second thoughts about getting another hide.

Hmm :-k . I can wear my dino hide for half a day to correspond with the getting to the temple. Then I can switch to a goat Nowak after lunch to simulate the jacket worn in the temple.

I'm gong to throw myself under a truck now.

Well yes, the stunt jackets couldn't lesser things could they. The only thing that makes them a stunt jacket is they were assigned to a stunt man ;-) .
