Wested Temple of Doom, in authentic brown Lamb, with pics.
Now that Christmas is out of the way, and I've had some time to wear my new jacket, It's time to show some pics.
I've distressed the jacket a little; I found I couldn't get used to the 'newness' with this one. The stlye and hide really need to look lived in, in my opinion. It didn't arrive as shiny out of the bag as my other Wested's, it should be noted, so that was a good start.
There are several really grainy patches on the jacket; see the pic of the pocket close up. I love 'em, and they sort of blend in to the smoother grain, and don't look out of place.
The fit of the jacket is great, though I really don't like the incorrect vents.
They don't sit quite right, and just look a little funny when the jacket is worn, in my opinion. Those of you who get a corrected one, won't have this issue. I look forward to seeing pics of those, and seeing how it should look.

very nice jacket kev! congrats on it.
now,I want to hear your opinion on this.
would you recommend giving the sleeves a half or a full inch extra in the top sleeve?
people have been saying that the top sleeve(bicep) area is a little to tight?
I am about to order one myself,so alittle advice would be great
thanks

Looking good.
The way Wested has done the vents on these early jackets is actually more correct for a jacket. Problem is the NH jacket vents are different! From the pictures of the NH jacket vent opening, as I've said before, it almost looks like the jacket was made without any opening, then the seam stitching cut to create an opening. Could be making a vent opining was overlooked? Look closely at teh photos, I think you'll see what I mean.

I hope so. I'd like to see it go to a nice new home.
I simply won't be wearing it for the next three or four months, at least, and it seems a shame to hang it in the closet (wardrobe!) for so long.
This one has the original hardware, which some later Temple Jackets may miss out on. The vents and rounded storm flap top are it's only real issues. It's distressed, which some may not like, but it's pretty tastefully done. Minimal sandpaper, just on a few select seams. The rest is
methylated spirits, just rubbed all over the jacket to remove the shine, and rubbed a bit harder in some places to reveal the lighter grey/brown underneath.
I'll probably grab a G&B next Winter, or the Wings TOD if it turns out nice.

A real shame to see this in the Bazaar, esp after the nearly two month wait, and the excitement we all had when they finally arrived. No chance of waiting it out a couple of months until the summer heat starts to drop? Remember, Indy wore his in hot India! Just imagine the first cool-ish night coming and how you wished you had a nice light jacket to wear out..
Kevin,
That's a great looking jacket! I just got my Wested ToD yesterday. To me, with more and more wear, this jacket will look better and better. By that theory, your jacket looks the worst it will ever look right now, and will only improve with age - that's the joy of leather-made products! Very few things, especially clothes, look better with age. I'm sure you'll quickly find a new home for this jacket if you choose to go through with the sale.
Kind regards,
Craig

Thanks guys! I have no hard feelings towards the jacket, it's just not right for me, right now!
I'd like to try a Wings, or G&B, or even one of Tony's jackets, further down the line. But for now, I've just lost interest, and see no point hanging on to it. It's on Ebay too, so we'll see if it goes.
If not, I'll store it carefully and break it out in Winter.
Oh, and I won't lie, the vent thing really annoyed me. After seeing pictures of how they look on a corrected jacket, I can't understand how
Wested allowed any to go out with the earlier vent stitch.
It simply looks so much better the way it's supposed to be, on the NH jacket.
My own fault, I should have returned the jacket immediately, rather than distress and wear it. I guess I was just happy to have a jacket after so long. Anyway, that's one of the reasons I'll sell it super cheap.

I'm sorry you're not happy with the jacket, it looks really nice and you've done a good distressing job. Maybe when fall comes, you'll have the bug again and be able to get another one with the corrected vents.
The ToD jacket is a strange animal. Holt and I really looked it over when working on the Wings project and there's several design "oddities" with the thing.

Thanks Crismans. It's no big deal. It's still a nice jacket, no question.
I'd just hoped this would be the last one! Seems there's always one little niggling thing I don't like about them!
The vent thing should never have been an issue though. I wish it was corrected before I ordered..
However, I like the look of the washed goat, and my credit card is already getting itchy..again! I'm hopeless!
