To say again, because people seem to keep missing it, the chest of this jacket measures under the arm from side to side, on the flat, is 22.5 inches.
that would translate to 45" around, unless I've forgotten math completely

Maybe they don't look tight on him in every scene:

http://www.theraider.net/showimage.php? ... ts/185.jpg

but the scenes I'm referring to that give this jacket it's unique character from the other films does have the sleeves looking tight on him as far as sleeve circumference:

http://www.theraider.net/showimage.php? ... ts/395.jpg

http://www.theraider.net/showimage.php? ... ts/393.jpg

I think you're right that the jacket may have been to big for him as far as the length of the jacket arms are concerned,

http://www.theraider.net/showimage.php? ... ts/263.jpg

that is maybe why they cinched it up making it more wrinkled in the sleeves than some of the other Indy jackets.

well, not this jacket
What I'm saying is that the fit in the arms of the ToD jacket is tight, and if you want it to look good you will need a little extra muscle or fat bulk in your arms, otherwise it will look "dorky". On H. Ford it looked ultra-cool because he had the arms to back it up in that movie.
Although the arms of the jacket in the movie do not look tight on him. Remember this is the jacket that apparently was too big for him

I'm not sure it was 'too big' in reference to length. Those wouldn't have changed for him. It is a longer jacket than the Raiders that's certain, and a different construction.

I'm not sure either I just know it appears more cinched up in some scenes.

Well, mine just arrived too. Right to my door too, for a change, which was nice. Normally I have to pick them up from the post office.
Very first thing I checked were the pockets, and they are cut spot on, just how they should look.
Was disappointed to see I didn't get the jacket with the vent alterations, but it's barely an issue.
The jacket is probably made better than any of the other 3 Westeds I own.
Looks like they really took their time with this one!
Fit wise, it's not quite what I expected. It doesn't feel slim fitting to me!
It's quite comfortable, both in body and sleeves, and I'm a pretty average build.
Arm movement is light-years ahead of my LC jackets. It feels far less restricting. The armholes are smaller, and don't look like the extend too close to the bottom of the jacket, like my LCs.
Hardware of course looks good. The zipper is a beast!
Lining is nice smooth brown nylon; colour matches the jacket very well!
I'm off to do some measurements now, just to check a few things out.
I'll post some pics when I can, though there's not much to see.
Being authentic brown lamb, the jacket looks pretty much like RC's.
I'm glad it's finally arrived. This is my last Indy jacket. I'm done!

..I will also add, on closer inspection, this is probably the nicest lambskin of my three Westeds. It's authentic brown, but seems a bit darker and has a lot more fine grain. Not dino obviously, but it has more character than plain smooth leather.

I just ordered a ToD jacket in washed goat - very excited! Hopefully it'll fit and all that (insert all standard worries about size and hide here).

I'd prefer it without the big black streak, but my size is pretty small so maybe it's not a problem...?

Oh, well my order got cancelled apparently... Uhhhh.... :? So, maybe not? Anybody know why it might have gotten cancelled? I did order in washed goat, but I figured I could wait for more if they had problems with it. Guess not.

Well anyway, I just ordered another one in Dark Brown Lamb. Hopefully (or maybe not hopefully) I don't end up with 2 jackets, and hopefully this order doesn't get cancelled either.

No, but if they'd replied and asked if I would have, I'd have said yes. It's alright though - I'm not upset or anything. I was just a little confused about why the order was cancelled. Hopefully this next one stays.

My guess is it was canceled because of the mark and you didn't specify, or they've made an arrangement for the tannery to take the hides back.

My 44 ToD in authentic lamb has landed in California!!! :whip:

I am actually not sure if the corrections have been made one mine because I really can't tell. I don't care.

The fit is perfect!! The fit is actual similar to my Todd's Standard which I love. I can see this jacket easily becoming my #1.

I hope this works. I don't believe I got one of the correction jackets after inspecting it a little more. I don't care - it is very minor to me. Here are just some quick shots of my jacket:

Image

Image

Shots of me wearing it will have to wait until I can get someone to take them.

The fit is actually really good. I do work out so I did request that Wested make the jacket with a loose cut at the shoulders and biceps. I am not overly muscular but most people can tell I work out by looking at me.

I could not get a better fit from Wested if I had flown to England and had them use me for their mannequin. Two big thumbs up, Wested!! :notworthy:

It is not as slim fitting as I thought...I can wear a light hoodie underneath my ToD.

Now the BAD: The pockets are so small that "handwarmers" are just a suggestion.  The things are barely thumbwarmers. I cannot stick my hands in them. It fine for me though since I learned not to use handwarmers with my Todd's Standard (stitching issues at the pockets).

Good timing browncoat, just in time for Christmas! Find the timer function on your camera (that's how I manage my pics)!

I'm wondering if we should have a dedicated thread to show off these jackets, not a thread about ordering, or NH heritage, or specs, or each person with their own thread (guilty here  )

Browncoat,

You sound as if your build is similar to mine -- not huge, but it shows that you "hit the weights." After asking for the extra room in the shoulders, how well does the waist of the jacket snug up? I asked for the extra room in the upper sleeves of my jacket(s), but if you got the exact fit you wanted, then maybe I should ask for the same thing you did...how did you phrase it?

When I ordered I told Wested that I worked out and their standard specs on their Raiders were tight on me and to add .75 inches to the armhole/bicep area or just make the jacket looser cut at the shoulder and bicep. The waist area and body are perfect.

I wear a 44R or L depending on manufacturer with a 33/34 pant waist/34 inseam. I'm 6' and about 185lbs at the moment. Not buffed or fat but fairly solid.

Browncoat,

You sound like a super-sized version of me (or I look like a mini version of you -- I like the 1st one better!) I'm 5'5" with a 40"-41" chest and a 31" waist. I only submitted my order to Wested under a week ago, so maybe I'll amend my order with the same phrasing that you used...

Just got my TOD dark lamb last week! Fit and appearance is a knock-out! Wested did an amazing job on this jacket. I don't see how anyone can top this....unless maybe Tony Nowak decides to take a crack at making a TOD jacket in the future. The only fault I can find with the jacket is that the openings on the front pockets are super small....I can only fit 3 fingers in there....but for the sake of SA, I believe it's supposed to be that way.

Very, very nice. This is another case of what is SA vs what you (or in this case I see on screen). I know the authentic lamb is more SA but I've always thought that the dark lamb looks more SA to Temple and your jacket confirms my preferences. A little distressing and you're jacket would look like it got back from a sparring match with Mola Ram.

My size is 44R. The back length is 26 in. It does look kinda light in the second photo, doesn't it......however, in actuality, it's darker than authentic brown, trust me.

Peter must have just read my mind. I was just handed a Parcel Force bag here at work! My ToD jacket has finally arrived!!! After tearing the bag open like a kid opening presents on Christmas, at first glance, it's beautiful! This is my first washed goat, so I had no idea what expect in person. The leather is fantastic! It has the weight and feel of my lamb, but the skin appears to be much more durable. I waited for the new batch of goat and opted not to get the faulty hide.

I know many of you have been talking about the slimmer fit of this jacket. I do notice the difference from my Raiders Wested - it is more snug in the arms and chest but still fits my frame well. From what others have posted here, it sounds like it will stretch a little so I'm not worried. Like Tron, I too am looking for the leather shirt fit that is so apparent in many ToD scenes.

This jacket also has the corrected vents and collar, for those who are wondering when those corrections would begin to get made. I'll definitely post some pics tonight when I get home.

Thank you, Peter!! This jacket exceeds my expectations!

Kind regards,
Craig

Here are a few pics of my ToD Wested. I have to say that I really love this jacket!! The washed goat is a fantastic hide - it has a great matte finish that looks really SA, IMO, especially when compared to the Raiders jacket. I'll let the pics speak for themselves.

Kind regards,
Craig
