Getting a goatskin jacket from US Wings tomorrow, and in a couple months a Todd's Standard probably.. I just want to make absolutely sure what to do after the jackets have been out in the rain?
Just hang it on a good wooden hanger and allow to completely air dry. Unless the leather dries out, you shouldn't have to do much of anything to to a new goatskin jacket for a LONG time. Don't worry about.
Yeah, that's about all I ever do, and that's pretty much to keep from shedding rain all over anything else I might come in contact with. Goatkskin is really naturally water resistant. The more water you can wipe off, the faster it will dry, of course, but it's not anything you really need to be concerned with.
I wear my goatskin jackets in rain all the time, and have never had soak through. Of course, NO leather jacket is recommended as rain gear, but for a regular jaunt in a rain for daily use, no problem what so ever.
you'll love the goat from wings my only advice is double check your measurement, they can run big at times. I'm a 44 and got a large and it was too big, but then I got a medium and it was perfect like it was taliored for me. Good luck and enjoy.
Copy that Jacksdad! I'm also a 44 and the medium fits perfectly.
As for getting it wet....you really have nothing to worry about! (cover your eyes Michaelson)... I've put my USW goat in the wash...twice ..to add a little character to it and it's still in great shape.

Ideally for my size I should wear Medium in ALL clothing. I can tell because of sleeve length and all my knit cuffs on all my clothing being too big for me while the rest of the garmants fit well.
Speaking of large and XL sizes
Yep, the pounds, when I posted this my wings indy medium fit nice before christmas, now I've gained alot of weight and it's too tight. I needed to put on wieght anyway, but still now none of my work pants fit. I think I put on a little too much. Christmas is fun but bad for the pants.
