The search for THE Raiders jacket is over!

Post by Kokopelli »

It seems that THE Raiders jacket :? is readily available to purchase from US Wings!
A DIRECT quote from an advertising 'postcard' I just got from Wings:

The Indiana Jones jacket isn't "just like" the one worn by Harrison Ford in "Raiders of the Lost Ark"--it is the same one. U.S. Wings designed and supplied the original for the movie.

That is a word for word exact copy of what is in the ad.
So there you go.

So? :-s

This has been published in newpapers and on their website and advertisements for years.

They did have a hand in it, and can indeed post that if Lucasfilm and their lawyers say they can, as Wings is VERY VERY much concerned about legalities when it comes to protecting their product. This one passed muster, so there's enough truth there to warrant them making the claim.

You can also find the discussions and debates all through the jacket section, as well as in the Indygear mainpage jacket writeup.

Nothing new here.....sorry. ;-)

:-s It's apparently you guys are not reading what's being written around here.

If you're attempting to start yet another 'flame war' based on old information like this, it will be dealt with in the appropriate manner.

One warning only.

Ah ha it's legal, accurate? Well, that's pushing it to the limit I would think.

Does that ad say that they have a screen used jacket for sale? I'm a little confused by the difference they're making between "just like" and "the same one." :-k

You're not referring to me, are you Michaelson? I'm just agreeing with you that the subject has already been covered, but in my own sarcastic way.

I didn't see anyone trying to start a flame war.

Sorry, my friend, your response can be read both ways, and this has been a topic that has been discussed ad nasium, and even though the same conclusions were made with the same proof provided...someone discovers it again, and it starts all over again. We don't have the time or patience to allow it go go again, especially when it's in the write up, and all those discussions are crammed in the archives.

With that, we're shutting this one down before the administration's blood pressure rises any further.

Regard! Michaelson
