Wested TOD arrived!
Moderators: Indiana Jeff, Mike, Indydawg
Here is the update
1. We are trying to get out what jacket we can from the skin.
2. Under pressure the tannery has put a replacement batch into work
NOW for delivery after xmas.
3. We are now out of authentic goatskin although it is in work.
4. I do have some dark brown goat from before which is not as soft the current authentic goat
5. Some Jackets leaving today with revised collar and vents
Whilst I can understand your anxiety none of you is as frustarted as me with the current skin supply situation. I can only apologise I have the ability to produce but not the materials to work with.
Cheers
Peter

Come-on, I can't be the only one who wants to see pics of RCSignals wearing the TOD.Tron7960 wrote:We've seen some close-up details of your jacket but I don't think we've seen any pics of the fit. Any chance you can give us some picks of you wearing your TOD. I shouldn't be the only reference. ;-)RCSignals wrote:I don't know what hide you ordered but with the detail changes Peter has said he's making, and other than possible arm size, I think you'll be pleased.PSBIndy wrote:
Right, but usual times for a custom is 21 days.....this TOD jacket has taken MUCH longer than that. I really hope it'll be worth it.
Mine has stretched out in many of the areas it felt a bit snug, even the arms, but I'd still like the upper arms through the elbow area to be a little more roomy.

Wow those lines on the washed goat do look bad.
If not worn, I wouldn't mind a shot of the whole authentic lamb ToD just to know what the whole jacket looks like. It is a bit odd that only 2 jackets have been delivered. I think the chances are greater that COW members made the very first initial orders than the average joe looking to make an Indy jacket purchase.

It is the authentic Lamb. shows a bit darker in those pictures.Tyrloch wrote:RC,
Which hide is that? And what back length did you order for your height & weight?
~Jace
I ordered original jacket size, so it is a 26" back length. 25.5" sleeve but could have been 26"
My TN CS is also HF size and it fits perfectly. The two jackets are very close in measurements, with exception of upper sleeve.
The 'feel' of the fit is slightly different.

It's the kind of jacket that probably wasn't designed to be worn zipped up anywayKt Templar wrote:Yup, you feel the line across your back, I noticed that too.RCSignals wrote:Mine or the jacket?Kt Templar wrote:RCS, the slim waist is in evidence there!
The chest measurement of the jacket itself is good, but the low yoke being positioned where it is does not 'give' across the back as it should.
Wow....definitely a NICE jacket! Love the leather and the teeth for the zipper!
I am curious about your height as well, RC.
I ordered a 44 (26 inch length with a 25.5 inch sleeve) which pretty much falls in line with my other two Indy jackets (Todd's Standard and a US Wings LE).
But I did not take into account that the ToD is a slimfit and perhaps should have gone either a size large or added an inch to the sleeve to counter the fit.
Either way....I won't know until it gets here!

There aren't a lot of good photos showing the back length, but here is one that I think shows how long the jacket is in the movie

edit to ad two more photo links. These aren't very clear but I think also show the longer back

I think the "1 inch longer than Raiders" may have been disproved with TN's stated backlength Raiders Hero measurement vs Peter's NH ToD backlength measurement.
RC, I think your ToD fit is very reminiscent of the scene in the jungle where Indy gets off the elephant and walks toward the first Kali statue that they find. Glad to hear the leather does have some give.

Here's mine, this is a raised, almost black line down the back of the jacket with pin-prick holes at either end. I don't think it can be distressed out.knibs7 wrote:I don't know- think this line could be "erased" if it were to be distressed? (SA)

Oh, I'm definitely going to distress it- I'm a stickler when it comes to SA. That's why I was wondering if the distressing could cover up the lineRCSignals wrote:Yes, that's what I was getting at. If it's a 40 I don't think it needs much adjustment in the body. The bottom seam of the yoke could be made slightly longer which might alleviate the feel of it across the back.Indiana Holt wrote:so,RC..
I want to hear our opinion aswell.....
I have been talking to tron and KT about this too in pm's
how thight is that jacket really?
need to make the whole jacket bigger by one inch?
Directly under the arms. side to side on the flat the jacket measures 22.5"
So I guess yes you'd be safe making it larger by one inch across.
The sleeves even though they have 'stretched' could be larger from the shoulder through the elbow. As I said before the sleeve end size measures 6" flat, and that's fine.
So the leather on the washed goat Raiders has pinpricks in it? That's a bit weird. The line doesn't look too bad on an actual jacket but I can see how it can bother someone who paid full price for the jacket.
Also, RC is 40 your regular size? I think I read where your TN was HF sized and fit great so I believe (and I could be wrong) that HF was a slimfit 44 or more like a 42. The ToD is a slimfit 40 in HF's which ends up being a whole size difference so that might be why its a bit snug on you.

What I'm saying is that the fit in the arms of the ToD jacket is tight, and if you want it to look good you will need a little extra muscle or fat bulk in your arms, otherwise it will look "dorky". On H. Ford it looked ultra-cool because he had the arms to back it up in that movie.RCSignals wrote:well, not this jacketbigrex wrote:Better have some chunky arms for that jacket, Harrison worked out his arms for that movie..

Here's the odd thing. The CS jacket in HF size is apparently a 42. My TN CS turned out to be a HF dimension jacket,as when I was giving my measurements they just happened to match the same. This ToD which is supposed to be a 40, (and I thought might not actually fit but I ordered it in actual size of the NH jacket anyway) shares many of the same measurements with the TN CS jacket. Maybe this is why, if at the time of the making of ToD it has been said HF was 'too slim' for the jacket. In other words, it was a large 40 or actually a 'slim' 42. (Recall the story of 'downsized' linings being made for him.Browncoat wrote:So the leather on the washed goat Raiders has pinpricks in it? That's a bit weird. The ToD was only feeling snug on me in teh upper arm area, arm movement was slightly restricted. the leather however has stretch and alleviated this feeling some. The fit of the body is OK.

Although the arms of the jacket in the movie do not look tight on him. Remember this is the jacket that apparently was too big for himbigrex wrote:What I'm saying is that the fit in the arms of the ToD jacket is tight, and if you want it to look good you will need a little extra muscle or fat bulk in your arms, otherwise it will look "dorky". Slim but not supertight.
I can wear a 38 or 40. More a 40 these days.... the only place it's snug is around the stomach when zipped up but that's cos I'm a bit fat right now!
NB: This is the prototype jacket.
