Peter,
Thanks for the update! This is great news, thank you so much for your effort in trying to make these as close as possible. I was hoping my jacket was on it's way, but with the changes being made I'm REALLY glad I orderd the washed goat .

Could this be one of those times when first in isn't necessarily best dressed? I hope the already completed jackets aren't lacking anything too major. Oh well, good luck for those who waited to order or whose jackets haven't been made as yet.
AHHH It doesn't matter if you get one that has a tiny innacuracy in the vent... As long as it looks and fits like Tron's that it will be a really nice jacket. Plus those of you who get yours that have one tiny thing wrong will sell it to those of us that don't care about these things at a discount!

a discount? They are rare, like the upside down aeroplane postage stamp
Great jacket! You think you could post a pic like this one with it zipped up? I'd like to see how the low yoke affects the fit with arms raised. Front and back view would be great, thanks! How the fit on your upper arms/ how's the size of the armholes?

Peter has said he's going to correct the vent and collar on the rest.
I think these first will be fairly easy to correct, looks like hide is folded back to attach to the bottom seam where it shouldn't be, and if not cut at diagonal could be re-arranged. Maybe.
According to tracking, which Gemma gave me today, mine was sent last Friday and I estimate should be here tomorrow or Saturday, unless I have Holt luck with mail.
Looking at it worn the side vent inaccuracy is almost meaningless. You can't tell unless you are focused on it.
Man that a great looking jacket. Now I want mine even more. I hope mine is part of the 20 already made and shipped because the NOS hardware is going quick.
Well, I hope Peter is keeping track who ordered first and not giving the original hardware on the jackets shipped out as they are made. I ordered on the day this jacket came out but I ordered a 50 so my pattern is still being cut. However, I see no reason why those who ordered first don't get the hardware, despite the size...

This probably belongs in the Order questions thread, but I would guess they are keeping track by order date. It appears so from the way the invoice notices have been processed. Your 50 order probably has a bag attached with the hardware just waiting for the pattern.
Hey, what was the special deal for the first 5 jackets? Did you get anything special besides the jacket, Tron?
I didn't know there was a special deal.
I seem to be the 1st COW member to receive my jacket but I'm pretty sure I wasn't one of the first 5 orders placed.
It was nice to get it so quick though.
It was hinted by KT in the original jacket thread that a few of the first ToD jackets would get a surprise. I don't remember him mentioning a specific number though
I thought I remembered reading something to that effect but I don't think anything was official. How can you tell you place in line in the ToD ordering anyway?
We can't. It's all seeming pretty random at the moment!
Tron was one of the first to order in late October though, if I recall correctly. One of the first to post that he'd ordered at any rate.
I'd say there was quite a rush on the Temple jacket on October 28/29!

Yeah, don't worry about the '5 jackets' thing. That didn't happen in the end!
But you just said it didn't happen in the end! Unless...unless it's something special just for me? Maybe my many, many nagging emails to Peter finally paid off, and he's bribing me to leave him alone!

Maybe it'll be like the golden wrapper... or maybe not!
Haha! I love Charlie and the Chocolate Factory!
Kevin and the Parcelforce Parcel. It's just not quite the same!
Oh well, I'll just have to wait and see, I suppose!

If that's the case, check the package for ticking before you open it.
Again, that jacket is looking really nice! What's your exact chest measurement that you ordered a 40? And is it tight across the chest when zipped up? KT made a comment that the fit on theses is a bit snugger than on the Raiders jackets. I also wear a 40, and my chest is 40", so I'll go one size up if it is indeed a bit snug.

I'm 40" around the chest as well. Depending on the cut of jacket, I can wear a 38 but both of my Westeds fit me well in size 40. The TOD is a trim fitting jacket on me. Slightly more so than my Raiders, but seems less restrictive.
It's a different feel partly the design I suspect, but the nylon lining also allows for more freedom of movement. I've been wearing it with a rather heavy hoodie underneath and it zips up fine without any concerns. With a t-shirt or button up/Indy shirt I've got ample room.
Have you already distressed it Tron? There's lot's of spots there that don't look like snow! It looks fantastic.
I wonder why no one else has their jacket yet though? Seems strange. I'd love to see comparison pics to see how similar these jackets are going to be, since they've been copied from the same jacket.

Yep. I'm too old and too impatient for completely natural distressing.
I've given it a little push in the right direction so that natural wear can pick up where I left off.
...I should just edit, but anyway...Tron, how's the arm movement?
I like my LC jackets, but always felt the armholes were oddly placed, and didn't allow as much movement as I would have liked. I've hoped this and perhaps Raiders jackets would not have the same problem. Please let us know.

Arm movement is good to me. Comfortable while driving, which is a big test for me. I wouldn't worry about editing. I wouldn't have thrown it out for scrutiny if I was going to get bent outta shape by member responses. I did that once in the past and found it was a waste of time.
beautiful work on the jacket over the last couple of days. it looks like you aged it several years......eventhough you should of made it look 'newer' because.....technically it is a jacket from 1935 when your first got it right?........oops, there's my alarm....time for my meds ;-)
great work
ps- is it cold in the pegg yet? we're suppose to be at -24 C this weekend

Hey G, usually when you geek out, it feels like you're speaking my language. But you lost me on this one
As far as orginal hardware goes I thought it was for the first sixty ordered. I ordered a 44 washed goat that Gemma said would be here before Christmas but I read somewhere that they just got the washed goat in so I don't think it is going to happen. I did get number 60 so I am expecting original hardware.
