New and Old Aldens

Post by feathers73 »

I have some Alden 405s that have gotten too small for me. They are an 11D relasted to 11 1/2 but I would say they are between an 11 and 11 1/2. I am going to be trying on some new ones in a couple of weeks and will want to sell my old ones. Does anyone have advice on shipping weight/cost for a pair of Aldens in a box?

thanks

It's going to depend on how far you're shipping them and how, so I'd wait until you have a buyer before quoting a price for shipment.

What most folks do is state in their advertisement 'shipment will be quoted once I know your location and zip code'. You should also decide on how you're going to ship, so you can also quote that in your ad....such as 'shipment will be made via US Priorty Mail', or some such thing.

I've shipped A LOT of these boots through the US Post Office via priority mail, and the MOST it's ever been for continental US is like $15.75. Most of them tend to be in the 11 to 12 dollar range. I've JUST discovered however, don't pay for priority mail, just ship them first class, and get DELIVERY CONFIRMATION on them for an extra 75 cents. They even get more priority than well, Priority Mail (go figure). The Delivery Confirmation items HAVE to be tracked and scanned every night so, they take precedence. Hope this helps!!
