Egads! Maybe I'm in the minority, but I just don't understand the compulsion some have to ruin a perfectly good jacket. You wanna do it to an inexpensive jacket for costume purposes or whatever? Fine. But to a $700 Nowak? But hey, if you like it, that's all that matters. IMO, I think it looks terrible and now the fit is off too.

Personally, I don't know what they were thinking when they had Harrison wearing a jacket with sleeves down to his thumb knuckle. I know he has some action shots where a long sleeve may have been advantageous, but still my goodness. A happy medium between the raiders tightness and the CS looseness would have been good (kind of like TOD & LC I suppose). You can tell I'm opinionated can't you?

The sleeves were fixable, anyways. Remarkably so. I know, Chewie, I was swimming a bit in the jacket before, and it seemed that the jacket wouldn't crease on its own. A bit impulsive, and I wish I would have lived with it longer before making the leap, but I do like how it turned out. Anyways, the last I will say about that! :)

Yup, thanks G! Yeah, a little bit of cold water and the leather is very shapeable/stretchable.

That's my very first attempt at making a felt hat :) What's funny is Baron Hats DOES make a felt Man with the Yellow Hat hat. For $300!!!

Baldwyn, I like what you've done with it. It actually fits better to me than the ones Harry wears in the film. They look brand new and are way too long in the sleeves for my taste. Yours almost fits like a Raiders.

Cheers

My Nowak reincarnation should be at the shop today. I cant wait to get it. Ive decided on what my lining will read.

I chose the quote from Indys first line in the movie and because to me this IS it when it comes to Raiders jackets. I also decided I want the letters to be black. something I wish I would have went with on my CS jacket.
Best Regards,

that is strangely bazar as i was thinking the EXACT SAME THING with 'This is it'. thats just too wierd.

luckily for both of us, i decided that the next jacket won't have an inscription except for #010/888 sewn inside of the pocket.

All Im having Tony do is a new liner for my number #623 and inscription. It did fit me quite nicely. Tony even told me when I tried it on that when I ordered mine he would make it to the same specs. One thing I asked him to do is remove the leather from the logo. So later on it wont have an outline on the back.

Castor, I just want you to know that I'm a nervous wreck since ordering my Indy I yesterday. I know $1000 isn't a big deal to everyone but I have never spent that much on a single garment in my whole life. I'm taking hourly looks at your jacket for solace.

Well, last month I finally recived my TN #485
(nothing to do, but I liked the number cause it was the Memphis Belle's ID number -124485-)

I'd already had a Wested (Authentic Lambskin-Raiders) jacket, which I loved and I never took out, not even to sleep...but as I am much fatter now than when I ordered it, I went for a CS, which is in fact one size bigger

Well, here it is:
ImageImage

I like my TN a lot, specially the way it is distressed.
It reminds me a lot the Smithsonian's one:

Here is the leather/colour comparission:

Here are some pics of the fitting:

And here the main construction differences:

I think this help to avoid the FS effect...

And the text:

My next (I hope someday) will likely be Peter's Temple Jacket...

Indy I 328/888 arrived today!

Post by crismans »

After taking off half a day of work, the FedEx man got here at 4:28 (of a guaranteed delivery time of 4:30). But he got here with my Indy I and I'm glad he did. First off, this jacket feels wonderful when you put it on. It's very hard to describe but it feels and moves like you think Indy's jacket should. I feel that if I landed a haymaker on a big German mechanic's nose, my jacket would be flaring out properly.

The cut and fit are just great. I asked for an exact copy of the jacket, inscription under the label, and no leather facing on the label. Tony delivered in spades. Like I told Tony, I do like the leather but it does take a little getting used to after wearing all these "smooth" leather jackets. But I'm already growing into it My wife looked at it and said, "I really like that one."

Here's some pics from my basement lair:

Ignore the alien parasitic eyes in the first shot. I was fooling around with the red eye remover and was too lazy to take another pic after I fouled up. ;-)

i agree with holt.......that jacket not only flatter's your frame....it just looks like an awesome indy jacket on you....bar none :)

i can tell that it's got that squeeky new shine to her......that fades extremely quickly. about as quick as the wear in time for wested washed goat.

congrats crismans......that's a keeper.

(btw......the first pic looks like you're wearing blue eye-shadow.....i think it's the quality of the pic.......right???......right?????)

Thanks for the comments! No, I'd taken some shots and found out they were blurry, taken some more and screwed up while messing around with the red eye function and was too lazy to take more.

That or the eye shadow goes well with my sexy sleep pants.

He told me that the making of my jacket is going to start today or tomorrow.

They don't look it to me. Could it be that maybe it's because crismans has a larger jacket compared to most of the others and the natural sizing of the rest of the jacket might come into play? Maybe it's a matter of pocket proportion to the rest of the jacket? Here's me and Tony wearing our jackets together. His is obviously a larger jacket, whereas mine is essentially a 40. Though I'll lay money down that some are going to start saying one thing or another based off of lighting, angles, wrinkles, or anything else, the pockets on both jackets are identical in size.

I made it a link so you could see it larger.

The pockets are 8 inches by 6 inches. Isn't that comparable to the others? It might be because I'm a robust youth (6' 1"; 240 lbs) and they appear a little smaller.

6 inches? Mine are 8 x 6.5 inches. Is there any chance you could double check the measurement?

Your time is coming, RC. Your time is coming.

Yeah, they're 6.5 inches. My daughter has appropriated my cloth measure so I was having to use a tape measure and read it in a hurry.

Rick, my jacket is a 50.

Your pockets match mine, crismans. 6.5 x 8. If your jacket is a size 50 (compared to mine at 40) with pockets the same size as mine, I think it's safe to say they may appear smaller due to the difference in jacket size. Regardless, I think it looks great on you, pockets included. I'd try a different shade of eye shadow, though. ;-)

I remember making a post in the first page of this thread telling you guys, “Another jacket that I won’t own”, but now SCRATCH this...

I just got #777/888!!! And well I’m in awe in front of that jacket. The craftsmanship and the hide are truly beautiful!!!!
The fit is prefect; I never have a jacket fit me like that!!!

Tony did a true masterpiece. I can’t be more pleased with this jacket and can’t thank him enough!

It becomes my “Preeecioouus”and Holy Grail!!

It's already dark outside, but I promise I will post photos tomorrow.

So for now here just a teaser....
